18.01.2022 Last weekend, VU music staff member Sherry Rich and her brother Rusty played their first live gig since February and on a very cool venuethe sea shepherd ship ‘Steve Irwin,’ now docked at Williamstown and open as a bar and venue on weekends called Ship 4 Good. This event celebrated the closing of the Art and Industry Festival which also involved several VU music students in the ‘song series’ available to view now at www.artandindustryfestival.com.au

06.01.2022 Third Floor (Uni Music Showcase nights) at Jazz Lab! Tamara from Jazz Lab has put together a uni night featuring bands from the major music degrees in Melbourne, running on Tuesdays in July. There are bands from VCA, Monash University, Box Hill Institute, Victoria University and Melbourne Polytechnic. The idea is that these young bands can meet and hear each other play, expand their professional networks and also get some gigging experience. There are no musical guidelines or... restrictions so there will be a wide variety of different music. There are links on Facebook to each event, and the ticket link is below. They've also organised cheap student tickets ($5) to encourage students to go along. There are 50 tickets available to each event, with social distancing measures in place. Music will run from 8-9.30 at Jazzlab in Brunswick.
