Yesterday on his 10yr wedding anniversary he was busy working on a full mouth reconstruction, placing implants n doing root canals. He also wanted to spend the day with his wife so he decided to bring her into work as well!... 04.01.2022 The Modern GP I have been getting a lot of feedback from many asking What is Encompass? Why should they come? The Rationale and philosophy behind Encompass 2019... The organiser of encompass have heard a lot of dentist, new grads, recent grads, young and experienced, ask how do we do what you do.? The important aspects of a general restorative dentist/practice from a clinical technique perspective, which will in turn generate a larger and loyal patient following are: Sound protocol for composite restorations Good understanding of Ceramic and CR material selection and how to bond or adhere these restorative materials to tooth structure Treatment planning aesthetic cases Tooth coloured ceramic restorations Endodontics and restorative options for the root canal treated tooth Minor tooth movements to allow restorative cases to be truly minimally invasive. When should root canal be undertaken and when an implant is a good option These concepts are the reasons for the genesis of the Encompass Symposium. We call it the Modern General Practitioner. Understanding dentistry in a multidisciplinary approach and being able to understand the problems and possibilities, treatment plan, manage and even carry out parts or whole of these cases where comfortable to do so. Also, knowing our limitations and when also to refer to your specialist team. 04.01.2022 Have been MIA on social media but thought i would wrap up what has been an amazing and crazy 2019 for me! Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year for 2020... and to thank all my friends for all the support this year! So many highlights and memories in 2019, working with the Mavern Group on ceramics, organising and running Encompass2019, Smithson-Mak Masterclass, ESCD- European Society of Cosmetic Dentistry in St Petersburg, CAPP Asia in SG, ADAVB, Young Dentists Hub, DU2019 with QDG, Schein TV! On top of this i was able to publish an article in the Australian Dental Journal thanks to the support from Andrew Chio and Ian Meyers, and in Europe the Dental Technologies Magazine. Forever grateful for all the opportunities and support I get from all the wonderful people and companies that have supported my journey in dentistry. There are too many ppl to mention and thank you, im sure they know who they are... As a humble general practitioner, i could never have thought i would ever be doing what im doing. I pinch myself each morning to check if ive always just been dreaming. 2020 looks like will be another crazy year...Im looking forward to presenting and running workshops with PSG Inspire and their graduate programs, IDEM-SG with Encompass 2.0, Young Dentists Conf, ACAS, SCATE Malaysia. On top of that, Im really excited about presenting at the Quintessence Ceramics in San Diego in June plus the BACD- British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry in Nov Edinburgh. The program and speaker line up for these conferences are some of the best in the world. Making me super nervous. Locally 2020, I am lucky enough to be able to join Richard Chan and be part of his Implant Immersion Program, taught by some of the best mentors in the region. Highly recommend for those looking for a good sound implant program. One of a few top class programs out there currently. Also few other surprises for next year up my sleeve that im hoping to share soon! Signing off for 2019. Wishing everyone a great New Years holiday. Im enjoying a short break in Singapore right now before heading to the snow in Hokkaido. A rest with family time that im really looking forward to. Wishing everyone a Happy New Year for 2020.
