23.01.2022 I got reminded today that school holidays are coming up. While chooks are quite happy to be left at home alone for a few days, a good reliable source of water is a necessarity and a great way to deal with this is an automatic waterer on a large bucket or tank. Find the auto waterers on the website here: https://wapoultryequipment.net.au//dri/automatic-drinkers/ Both our pens have this D-bowl float drinker. Take care, Helen

21.01.2022 Love this... I know how much my girls enjoy frozen blocks of food,... now something to try when it's not so hot.

21.01.2022 If you've been to the shop, you may have met our new staff member... Grian - company for Lisa, who has been been very sad since the last of her little red companions died. Yes he is tiny! Got though the 100mm square mesh. He has feathery feet and is just learning to crow. I haven't had time to work out what he is... probably a mix :) Incubation season has started early with the big rush on chooks... you can find the incubators in stock here on the website. Keep safe, Helen https://wapoultryequipment.net.au//incubators-and-accesso/

20.01.2022 I'm cheating and sharing someone elses photo of our traps :) Very glad that you are decreasing the chook eating fox population Rural fox control You can find these cage traps on the website here: https://wapoultryequipment.net.au//tra/large-animal-traps/

20.01.2022 Love doing researching and learning new poultry facts. Todays lesson: "Quail eggs are nearly one-fifth of the size of chicken eggs. Generally, egg weight ranges from 6 to 16 g, with an average weight of 10 g" [Quails - an overview | ScienceDirect Topics] Have a fabulous day, Helen

19.01.2022 New stock of my favourite brooder box bedding - Mini Hemp in the shop now. Hope its warmer where you are...I'm freezing! Keep safe, Helen ... https://wapoultryequipment.net.au//poultry-brooders-chick/

19.01.2022 With incubation season heading into full swing I find myself saying this quite often.... Please remember chooks don't have timers, thermometers or hydrometers if you have any questions please feel free to call, I love to talk, especially about chooks. Phone: 0422 81 6644 Mon to Fri (10am to 4pm) or Email: [email protected] ... Take care and enjoy the chickens, Helen

18.01.2022 New stock of the big Eco Glow Safety 2000 brooders arrived today along with some Brinsea incubators so these have been updated on the website. Hope the rain is going were it's needed, it's been very cold and wet here! Helen https://wapoultryequipment.net.au//brooder-brinsea-eco-gl/

18.01.2022 Looks like we aren't the only ones missing eating out. So it wasn't just my imagination, I thought there were more rodents about. I've gathered our collection of mouse and rat traps here on the webpage - see below. If you'd like more information on the traps or trapping I've some musings under Helen's Blog, look in the Traps section, Take care, Helen ... https://wapoultryequipment.net.au//tr/mouse-and-rat-traps/

18.01.2022 Sharing for a friend who is fellow crazy animal person. Wish I could have more...

18.01.2022 The chook feeder that more than halved my feed bill... thanks to stopping all the pigeons, doves and sea gulls from eating the chook feed :) Works well on all breeds of chook who weigh over 1kg (ish). Little light Flash with her lack of weight meant I had to add another feeder to my home pen so she could eat!

17.01.2022 If you've been into the shop you'll have noticed the insanity :) There are still major supply issues, with brooders being a big one.... but the IM incubators have arrived and many have disappeared already. We will be putting in another order ASAP so if you want a particular one please call and let us know so we can put it on the order. Enjoy the chickens.. Helen https://wapoultryequipment.net.au//incubator-im-24-egg-au/

16.01.2022 The container from Italy arrived.... Yay! So the Cova tuttos, including the cute 16 Egg auto turn digital incubator, are back in stock. https://wapoultryequipment.net.au//novital-products/page/3/

15.01.2022 This photo of Flash pretty accurately shows my girls daily routine. All three are moulting and doing alot of nothing :) Hopefully your hens are being more productive! The nest boxes, for those of you who having hens laying, can be found on the website here. Take care, Helen and the very lazy chooks at home https://wapoultryequipment.net.au//nest-boxes-/nest-boxes/

15.01.2022 A new blog post for all our new chook owners/parents Welcome to the wonderful crazy chook club. "Starting a Chook pen from Scratch" https://wapoultryequipment.net.au/helens-blog/

15.01.2022 This caught my eye this morning... We are so fortunate to have an amazing range of lovely local cafes. My favourite is well known ( Bayside Barista) What is yours? #supportlocalbusiness #supportlocal #localbusiness #perthsmallbusiness #baldivisbusiness

15.01.2022 Saw this during recess - the boy has me on a strict school timetable at home! And had to share Yes Jeff is at work in the shop and can help you over the phone [ 0422 81 6644 ] or email ( [email protected] ) Have a great day, Home schooling, crazy chook person Helen and the menagerie ... https://wapoultryequipment.net.au/shop/

14.01.2022 I love Egg carton crafts, pity the boy is getting abit too old still thats the advantage of being an Aunt - which is the best job ever! All the fun, without the hard bits Yes we are open! Jeff is at the shop to assist you. We can take your order over the phone and post it, You are also welcome to collect it and we are happy to take items out to the car park if you don't wish to come into the shop. Take care, Helen https://wapoultryequipment.net.au/pr/egg-cartons-and-trays/

12.01.2022 This is totally unsurprising... hopefully people read up on how to care for them properly.

12.01.2022 Happy Easter from my chook pen to yours.. stay safe, Helen

12.01.2022 The trap container arrived! Finally we can put the cat/possum and paddle style fox traps back on the website and fill a number of back orders. You can find the 90cm paddle style traps here: https://wapoultryequipment.net.au//cage-trap-90cm-cats-la/

12.01.2022 After fighting with the internet phone for sometime we pleased to let you know we have a new phone number! 0422 81 6644 Yes you can send us pictures to that number as well if you need to. Thanks, Helen and the menagerie

11.01.2022 Yes we are here... I tried to to take a photo with the chooks, but apparently they were too busy lazying under the tree :) So I'm in the incubator room. If you don't wish to come into the shop we are happy to post your order to you - Australia wide, Take care, Helen https://wapoultryequipment.net.au/

11.01.2022 Got asked a digital Cova Tutto incubator question that I had to think about... so I've had a 'very civilised discussion' with one of the machines here at work and I can now tell you that in order to change the number of days (ie for species other than chooks - 21 days) hold down the button button till the '21' on the screen flashes then use the buttons to adjust. FYI the top button allows the temperature to be adjusted the same way. Keep warm, Helen https://wapoultryequipment.net.au//incubator-cova-tutto-2/

10.01.2022 Yet another conversion about crows stealing eggs... they are soooo sneaky. The two most popular reasons for getting a roll away nest are: the egg thieving crows and for chooks who have taken to eating their own eggs. The roll away nest boxes can be found on the website here: https://wapoultryequipment.net.au//nest-boxes-1-hole-with/... Hope your hens are laying better than mine, Helen

10.01.2022 This weeks best seller will surprise no one - there are mice everywhere currently, not just on the east coast. Find the mouse traps on the website here: https://wapoultryequipment.net.au//tr/mouse-and-rat-traps/ Hope you have as restful weekend as our feathered staff members... who decided to start their weekend abit early

07.01.2022 Sorry but we will not be open tomorrow, Thursday 16th July 2020, due to a funeral. We will be open on Friday and will return calls and emails then. Most items can be found on the website: https://wapoultryequipment.net.au/ Orders will be packed and posted Friday. Stay safe, Helen and the menagerie

06.01.2022 I love baby photos

05.01.2022 Some good info... I get weird looks when I talk about porous egg shells, Enjoy the chickens, Helen

05.01.2022 It's been crazy around here and COVID chickens are definately trending! We are running low on a number of items and shipping is very slow.. we will let you know as soon as items arrive. We do still have a number of the Cova Tutto incubators: https://wapoultryequipment.net.au//incubator-cova-tutto-2/ Take care, Helen

04.01.2022 This caught my eye..

04.01.2022 Take care and keep safe. See you at dawn on your driveway, Helen

04.01.2022 With a Facebook feed full of hearts and roses it's hard to miss what day it is! This was how I fell in love with chooks... after over 30 years of being frightened of them after a rooster attack before my 5th birthday. Have a great day and wonderful weekend, Helen

04.01.2022 Had a lovely busy day here in the shop talking chickens. The most popular item of the day - Snoozle for the brooder boxes. We have 130L bags here in the shop for $22 or online you order: https://wapoultryequipment.net.au/product/snoozle-25l/ Keep warm and enjoy the chickens, Helen

04.01.2022 Hunting through photos and trying to find a suitable one for an Instagram post. I'd rather not use a photo of 'Lisa' again... she really is the most co-operative model. I don't think I have a 'bad' photo of her. She poses, stays still and always comes to have a talk, so she gets photographed alot. #crazychooklady https://wapoultryequipment.net.au/

03.01.2022 A happy Monday for me... I get to happily OCD ( or should that be CDO ) over the newly arrived stock of leg rings! Am armed with coffee, so all great. Helen https://wapoultryequipment.net.au//leg-rings-and-bandettes/

03.01.2022 We might not stock toilet paper ... but I can recommend the Mini Hemp in your brooder box, kitty litter tray, rabbit/guinea pig cage and such. It is the best odour reducing litter I've found. Then once it is used the garden loves it. Keep well, Helen https://wapoultryequipment.net.au//ozhemp-mini-hemp-100l-/

02.01.2022 Love sharing my stories with customers and hearing theirs... we have so many lovely friendly animal people who come to the shop. I love seeing your photos. https://wapoultryequipment.net.au/ Helen, self confessed, crazy chook/terrier/cat person, who is definitely under the paw

02.01.2022 Jeff has been alone in the shop this week, while I'm recovering from surgery so I've missed the hens at work :( Since I was home, the hens here scored the scraps from Ride to School breakfast and were very happy to help with the recycling :) Have a great weekend, Helen https://wapoultryequipment.net.au/product-//plastic-bowls/

02.01.2022 Another old incubator for my 'historical photo' collection. This one had a cracked top and Jeff was able to find a replacement (shown in photo ) for it. It's owner now also has a lovely new digital version, with auto turn, of this Italian made incubator. Have a great weekend, Helen Find the digital auto turn 16 egg Cova Tuto here on the website: https://wapoultryequipment.net.au//incubator-cova-tutto-1/

01.01.2022 Do you have a rodent problem? There appears to be alot of mice and rats around at the moment, in both suburban and rural areas. No matter what size or how many rodents you have, there is a trap to help. I've put all the rodent traps together on the website, just call if you need any help. https://wapoultryequipment.net.au//tr/mouse-and-rat-traps/
