24.01.2022 A absolutely fantastic announcement by the State Government and RASWA. The RASWA Wood Chopping committee are currently in discussion with the RASWA as to how the wood chopping competition will go ahead and will make an announcement in the coming weeks. At this stage, what we can confirm is the show will be from the 26th September until the 3rd of October. We look forward to another great year at the Perth Royal Show!!

22.01.2022 To the Mother's who stand on the sidelines cheering, and who drive around the country side getting their child to an event... To the Mother's who hold their breath as they watch their child swing their first axe, and who proudly watch on as their adult child encourages the next generation of wood choppers... To the Mother's who scrub fiercely to get those white pants white again, We wish you all an amazing Mother's Day. ... Thank you for all your support, encouragement and commitment to our great axemen and axewomen of our past, present and future.

21.01.2022 Nominations are now open for the 2020 Manjimup Cherry Festival!!! Nominations can be made via PM, or by contacting the handicapper, Ashley Tooke.

19.01.2022 Do you remember this double handed sawing event at the Jarrahdale Wood Chopping Compeittion in 1997. Very close finishes in both heats!

17.01.2022 Its sad to hear that the Harvey Show has decided not to go ahead in 2021. An unfortunate decision, however we are hopeful for the show to be back in full swing in 2022!!!

15.01.2022 We love seeing all of the pictures from chopping days gone by! A huge thank you to everyone who has been sending in photos!! These photos are of the late Geoffrey Gunson. Thank you to his son Jeremy Gunson for sending them in! If you knew Geoffrey, you would know that he was dedicated wood chopper. He wasn't one to shy away from a challenge! In the 1970s Geoffrey attended a woodchopping event in Tasmania, as he drove the axe into the wood, the axe handle came loose and left... the axe head stuck into the wood. That wasn't going to stop Geoffrey though who attempted to put the handle back in the axehead, he was determined to finish the log!! 15 years ago today, wood chopping WA lost a great axemen. The wood chopping community sends our well wishes to his family, and remembers him with great fondness. If you have any photos or videos of woodchopping in WA we would love to see them! Send us a pm and we will share them onto the page!!

10.01.2022 In light of the announcement yesterday from the RASWA having to cancel their 2020 show we would like to make the following statement; The Brunswick Agricultural... Society has been working extremely hard over the past few months to enable us to run our 2020 show. The changes we have already made to our programme and around our showgrounds currently enables us to run our annual show under the current PHASE 4 restrictions. With so many small businesses and local sporting and service organisations benefiting from our local show we are continually working towards ticking all the relevant boxes to make the 2020 LiveLighter Brunswick Agricultural Show a reality this year. At this stage it is business as usual, however we will keep you informed as information becomes available to us. We will continue to be guided by our State Government and Health Experts to ensure that the event will be safe for all those who wish to attend. MARK TALBOT PRESIDENT

07.01.2022 This week is National Volunteers Week. But we shouldn't just limit our gratitude to volunteers to one week a year. Our volunteers are always working towards making the sport better and making sure the events run smoothly. Without our volunteers, the logs wouldn't be trimmed, events wouldn't be planned and we wouldn't have judges to make sure the competitions are run fairly. Our volunteers work tirelessly in the background throughout the year, so we should all show our appreciation throughout the year as well! To all of our amazing volunteers, thank you for making our great sport what it is!

01.01.2022 On behalf of the Brunswick Agricultural Society I would like to inform you that the 2020 Live Lighter Brunswick Agricultural Show has been officially cancelled.... Our committee has worked extremely hard to try and make this years show a reality. We always said we would continue to move forward under the guidance of our State and Local Health officials. With so much uncertainty and the difficulty in getting more information and direction from the officials, we have no option but to make this tough decision. We know this decision will affect many of our local sporting clubs, service clubs, schools and the many not for profit organisations that rely on our show for their fundraising, plus the many small businesses that are a big part of our show. The planning already undertaken will be carried over to next year and we look forward to seeing the many families back in 2021 who enjoy attending the Brunswick Show. MARK TALBOT PRESIDENT
