25.01.2022 Well, it was a great weekend for all here at Bendat Basketball Stadium but a somewhat surreal ending.... We have spoken with the Department of Premier and Cabinet and the Department of Health. They have confirmed that all participants will be allowed to return home pending proof that your place of residence is in the region you are returning to. Checkpoints will likely be set up on Perth major roads at some point this evening. Participants who have been at the Championships will NOT have to isolate when they return unless they been to one of the potentially exposed sites - listed in the second image. 24 . . , As of 6 pm tonight, basketball is not an allowed activity in these three Western Australia regions until 6 pm Friday 5th February. All basketball stadiums will be closed (including the BWA offices), and all Associations should ensure that teams are not training or playing in groups at all. Basketball in the Mid-West, Wheatbelt, Goldfields, Great Southern, Pilbara, Gascoyne and Kimberley can continue as normal for the current time. From everyone at Basketball WA, we wish you all to please stay safe and follow the COVID guidelines. 22.01.2022 Basketball WA, with the support of Associations has agreed to suspend all INDOOR competition for ALL age groups the week of 6 14 February in line with when the next stage of restrictions is due to end. We will work with Government and our Associations to understand future restrictions and, if required post this date, whether playing basketball indoors with a mask is something that can be d...one reasonably and safely. These guidelines are developed with the primary intention of ensuring good hygiene and restricting the number of people within stadiums at any one time to reduce the chances of person-to-person transmission of COVID-19. : Masks must be worn indoors (for players, spectators, staff and officials over the age of 12) at all times, even when training. Masks are not required for players if training is held outdoors while they are training but must be used at all other times. A 4 square metre capacity rule is in place for venues. Associations and clubs must ensure they meet these requirements for their venues. A max of 150 people including players, officials and spectators are allowed at venues. Venues will be required to maintain a contact register for patrons. This will now be a shared responsibility between venues and patrons, penalties may apply for failing to comply. Our community's safety and health is a priority, so we will continue to follow the latest guidelines and requirements. Pending no further community cases, it is our hope that basketball in WA will resume to normal conditions from 12:01 Sunday 14th February. We will continue to update our stakeholders as the situation progresses. #bwacountrychamps #bwa #countrychamps #covid19sport

18.01.2022 Due to the current COVID restrictions and following the WA Government's latest health advice, Basketball WA has made the difficult decision to CANCEL this weekend's WEEK 2 BWA Country Championships (6 & 7th February) We understand the impact this has on all our Associations. Click the link below for all Grand Final results https://wabl.asn.au//perry-lakes-warwick-highlight-list-o/... The successful introduction of a dedicated weekend for our Championship Divisions saw intense competition over three days at Bendat Basketball Centre.
