20.01.2022 Well the dust has settled on what was an amazing first addition of Women’s Country Week! Thanks goes out to the organising committee in particular Angelo and Janelle. The mountain of work that was achieved to get the tournament to run was beyond imagine. To the Country Cricket Board and Geraldton Regional Cricket Board thanks for your support and efforts, thanks for turning on the weather too! Along with the clubs for providing the outstanding facilities and friendly enviro...nments for all teams. I’m sure it was appreciated. Thanks finally to all the players, umpires, coaches and volunteers that travelled. A huge effort to get to Geraldton to be apart of the tournament. We hope you enjoyed the experience and are back next year. Well done to Geraldton for taking out the inaugural champions honours. Special mention to Janelle Phillips for being named Player of the Tournament be an astonishing 6 votes. Congratulations also to our players from the Midwest selected to take part in a game at the WACA ground against the WA Indigenous team on Feb 7. The team was selected from Women’s Country Week. Belt up. is a road safety awareness campaign to promote wearing seat belts on WA roads to reduce the severity of injury in a crash. The message is simple. WEAR A SEAT BELT. Belt up!
