PLEASE, put forward your nominations for Player/Coach and Manager in the next week, Teams are close to the numbers we require, but a few more names would be helpful in this WAC’s 40th year. 17.01.2022 2020 National Mens Championships Dates Hi everyone, a few of the States nomination forms are showing the wrong dates for this years Championships being held on ...the Gold Coast. Dates for the 45 to 75's are Saturday June 27th till Saturday July 11th, NOT Sunday the 12th. Dates for the 35 to 40's are Saturday October 3rd to Sunday October 11th, NOT Thursday the 1st. Old dates where posted during sponsorship discussions and not updated. Can you please arrange to change the dates to avoid any more confusion.

15.01.2022 Sunday March 22nd WACMHA Selection Trial in Bunbury has been CANCELLED After much deliberation by the committee, it has been decided to cancel next Sunday's selection trial. The committee has taken this decision in the interest of the health and welfare of players, officials and supporters in the light of the ongoing COVID-19 crisis and particularly the heightened restrictions implemented in the last few days.... Quite apart from other measures already implemented by Government, industry and other sporting bodies, there is now talk of school closures and which could quite easily trickle down to local sporting events but which could happen in any event. Whilst we would have been only a small group in the overall scheme of things, the committee felt it prudent to advise of the cancellation now rather than at the last minute later in the week if we had to. Some may consider this to be an extreme measure but it may be these extreme measures that might just get us all through this crisis. Some of you may well already be playing local club hockey and for the time being until advised otherwise by your club or association or you choose personally not to, continue to do so and those who are not playing regularly, I encourage you otherwise to keep up whatever training and fitness programmes you are currently engaged in. The second selection trial in Bunbury on the 5 April is scheduled to go ahead unless otherwise advised. We will make an announcement on that one way or the other in the week leading up to that weekend. The next two weeks will hopefully provide some clarity where all this is going and what effect it will have on club and national hockey. I have copied in advice from Hockey Australia for players in general and Hockey Australia Masters (HAM) in respect to Masters: https://hockey.org.au/hockey-australia-coronavirus-update-/ https://www.facebook.com/505114109685486/posts/1270808899782666/ This may disappoint some and some may disapprove but the committee considers it has acted in your best interest. For the sake of a delay of a little over two weeks until the next scheduled trial/training date, and at which time we hope to be better informed, we have made the call accordingly.
