19.01.2022 Due to current Covid 19 restrictions and ongoing uncertainty, we have made the decision to hold off opening the restaurant until the 5th of September 2020. 10.01.2022 Warm Hot Cross Buns just out of the oven. Crazy day with wind, rain and sun. So good to have some inside jobs as well as intermittent gardening. Fabulous crop of field mushrooms in the paddock and already on the stove for mushroom and thyme soup. Loving the isolation out here but feeling sorry for so many hospitality businesses that have had to close or change to take away. Wishing everyone a Happy Easter and looking forward to catching up with all our lovely supporters some time soon.

08.01.2022 This Autumn the Crab Apples have been abundant. Normally the birds leave us only a few handfuls but this year with the crataegus, pomegranates and apples all having a bumper season there has been a larger selection for them. They make a great jelly and if picked at the right time the pectin is so high that the jelly sets beautifully. Perfect with scones, and our home made crumpets or added to reduced stock for a tasty sauce for duck, pork etc.
