16.01.2022 LATEST - 10am: Fresh crews from Central and South West Qld have arrived to help repair major damage to our network from yesterday’s storms - pictured are some o...f the small army of Ergon and Energex reinforcements arriving at Maryborough this morning. As at 10am, more than 7000 customers were without power, incl nearly 3800 in the Fraser Coast area, 900 in Bundaberg Regional Council, around 1100 in South Burnett and 700 in the North Burnett, more than 400 in the Western Downs council area, and pockets of outages around Dululu, Wowan, Eidsvold, Taroom, Injune and Rolleston. Damage to the Ergon network is significant more than 50 lines + poles down around Kingaroy alone and while we hope to get customers in parts of the North Burnett and Bundaberg back on today, others, especially in parts of the Fraser Coast and South Burnett, will likely be without power into the weekend. Priority work includes re-energising Maryborough’s water supply following last night’s restoration of power to Maryborough hospital. Aerial patrols are underway around Kingaroy, Maryborough & Mt Perry to help us pinpoint restoration efforts and there’s 100 crews on the ground plus contractors, with more Energex crews on their way once they get on top of the damage around Gympie. On the Downs, crews are working in tough conditions to repair hard-hit SWERs at Lydley Lane, Walkers Creek, Cattle Creek, Jimbour Creek Nth, Cooranga Nth and Warra Daandine. Please stay safe report any fallen lines to 13 16 70 or 000.
