21.01.2022 The 2015 WA Father of the Year is Teacher Paul Lenaghan from Merriwa! The following are some excerpts from his nomination from his Wife Samantha (more details on our website soon); "Paul is the most loving Dad, he is selfless, and always puts his family first and he has sacrificed so much to give us the best. He is a humble man who rarely complains and just gets on with what needs to be done. He is extremely passionate about his job and sets a great example of having a strong work ethic to our kids. He supports all of our kids to follow their dreams and believes in each and every one of them. He is funny, he is loving and he supports us all. We love him dearly and even if he doesn't get any further in this competition, I want him to know how special he is to us"

19.01.2022 November is almost here, which means the annual Good Night's Sleep campaign is just one week away! To celebrate, we spoke to new parents Elsie and Kane who, wit...h Ngala's programs and workshops, soon got the sleep they desperately needed. When a challenging set of twins entered their lives, lack of sleep began to take its toll. Before Elsie came to Ngala, she was getting no more than 90 minutes sleep in 24 hours. Over the past five months, the family spent a total of four weeks at Ngala. Now, Elsie can not only get the sleep she needs, but the pair are more confident, relaxed and ready to take on their twins' challenges. There are thousands more stories like Elsie and Kane's -- and this November, we're asking parents to come together in support of a Good Night's Sleep. Read more about Elsie and Kane's story below, or visit www.ngala.com.au/gns to find out how you can support WA parents throughout November.

18.01.2022 November 1st is the first official day of Ngala's Good Night's Sleep campaign, which lasts throughout November. Ngala is seeking your support today. Help us help parents in need. Find out how at www.ngala.com.au/gns.

09.01.2022 Dad was a fantastic role model, very hard working and he would do anything to make sure his kids had a great upbringing. Theres this stereotype of farmers bei...ng closed off but my dad wasnt. Growing up on a farm there is an element of toughening up, of course you feel emotions but you get a fairly unique appreciation for the twist and turns of life. I remember there was a lamb in the back of the ute in a pile of dead ones and it still had a bit of life left in it and I said Dad, that ones still alive. And he picked it up and knocked it on its head because it was too far gone and I think no one that hadnt grown up on a farm would be able to understand that, but it gave me a unique view on the way things are. I suppose one of the big things between father and son is that you never want to disappoint your dad. I definitely felt that when I was growing up if you screw up, you dont want to tell them until you work it out yourself. Its an obligation to sort it out, rather than put anything more on their shoulders. And the more than you cant do it, the more frustrated you become with yourself and the more you start to churn and that churning can lead you down a bit of path of self-destruction. That can be related to your job, school pressures, relationship stuff as well. One of the things that helped me is when Dad was going through some tough times he would tell me. And I was lucky enough to be there when he was frail and not always strong, cause then it made me understand what thats like. He taught me that in the end its okay to screw up as long as you learn something. Stay open and be able to say, I didnt get this right or I dont know the answer. And never be afraid to ask questions. I dont know if thats the key to happiness, but its always a good idea, whatever the situation.
