08.01.2022 We are very sad to hear of the loss of a 29 year old man freediving at the Rockingham Dive Trail on new years day to a suspected Shallow Water Blackout (SWBO). My condolences to the family and friends of the diver. Please dive safe this year and take on a professional freediving course to learn about the risks - let your freediving journey safely and enjoyably unfold for the sake of your loved ones and your self. Dive safe, dive within your limits and ALWAYS dive with a bud...dy who is able to safely recover you in the case of an incident. 02.01.2022 For those that missed out, WAs first freediving competition - the Goodfellow Commemorative Fremantle Freediving Pool Competition 2016 was a winner. All safe, clean dives, no blackouts and some top quality safety management with help from the experts! Thanks those that came down to support the event and make an effort to log their baseline STA, DYN and DNF. Huge thanks to Jackie Dent, Dave, Steve Toms, Robert Cameron, Darren Walker, Nathan Mcmurdo and the crew for supporting and providing invaluable assistance on the day. So proud to be able to safely promote the sport with such a heart-warming repsonse from competitors and safety crew alike. Go WA Freediving Community!
