24.01.2022 Wage inspections have uncovered nearly $350,000 in underpayments for hospitality workers, as part of a 12 month compliance campaign by industrial inspectors at the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety. A total of $348,890 in underpayments was identified for 369 employees from 49 café and restaurant businesses in the state industrial relations system. A large number of businesses also failed to keep the required employment records. 19.01.2022 The WA minimum wage and WA award rates of pay are increasing by 1.75% in January 2021. State system employers should get ready now for the increases which take effect from the first pay period on or after 1 January 2021. This season's public holidays are: - Christmas Day, Friday 25 December 2020 - Boxing Day, Saturday 26 December 2020 and Monday 28 December 2020 - New Year's Day, Friday 1 January 2021... When Boxing Day falls on a Saturday the next following Monday is also a public holiday under the Public and Bank Holidays Act 1972, however employment entitlements for public holidays will vary based on an employee's award coverage and employment arrangements.
