24.01.2022 Have you ever been accidentally overpaid? Industry is trying to say it's just as common as underpayment. https://www.3aw.com.au/overpayment-is-more-common-than-wag/ #wagetheft
24.01.2022 Wage theft will become a crime in Victoria. While this is good news for workers having their wages stolen or being underpaid, it's important to note that there are industry groups taking part in Federal "working groups", where they will be representing employer interests to legislate a reduction in wages, penalties and entitlements. Should workers have the right to know if their employer pays industry groups to lobby the government for lower wages, fewer workers' rights and ...reduced entitlements? Right now, membership lists of some lobby groups like AI Group are a secret. So you don't know if your employer is paying lobbyists to try and reduce your rights and lower wages. https://www.theage.com.au//wage-theft-to-become-a-crime-as
24.01.2022 Wage Theft might be made a crime in QLD. There's an inquiry looking at it right now! Share your story to the committee looking at it: https://www.parliament.qld.gov.au//current-inqu/CCOLAB2020... *Remember* wage theft and underpayment isn't just about being paid below the Award. It could mean a variety of things, like being expected to come in early or stay late unpaid, work unpaid overtime, buy your employer's goods, attend team meetings or training for free, or doing menial tasks that would otherwise be paid work as part of your unpaid internship.

18.01.2022 Do you like your penalty rates? We've started seeing industry lobbyists & representatives angling to lobby the government to scrap or reduce penalty rates. Their solution to the rampant wage theft and underpayment problem is to make it so that it's LEGAL to underpay you.... Does this "solution" work for you? For your family? For your lifestyle and savings? Or just for your ability to survive? If you don't share your opinions and stories in the Unlawful Underpayments federal inquiry about how "solutions" like these will impact you, industry will control the conversation. Make sure you read the instructions on the Inquiry page, and the Terms of Reference. Submissions now due 6 MARCH 2020. https://www.aph.gov.au//Sena/Economics/Underpaymentofwages

10.01.2022 Underpaid at Accent Group? They've just finished a payroll review. But we think workers could be owed more than what the company admitted to. Your options could include grouping together to recoup possibly thousands in unpaid wages.
