25.01.2022 Silky waters of Nærøyfjord. Who should take you here? The view by Tomasz Furmanek Photography

25.01.2022 Spring is coming, so is the return of the Saturday Morning Social Paddles. Starting 9.30am this Saturday, anyone keen to get back on the water is encouraged to attend. The river level will be around 3 metres and temperature is forecast to reach 17 degrees later in the day, however at 9.30am it might be slightly cooler..... Of course, anyone attending will need to comply with the Covid requirements, i.e. social distancing, bring your own life jacket, cleaning club boats & pad...dles after use, cleaning touch points etc. The following YouTube videos show how we can stay compliant with the Covid requirements: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sl0VR6lYZ8Y https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RfgJKtz9MeQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVo6DGjpDjc

23.01.2022 Hi friends/members Emma C here, (sorry can't work out how not to post as WBCC rather than myself!). I'm stuck in Victoria, I've actually moved to the mountains to live the dream. But I was meant to be visiting Wagga a lot more frequently (for example I had tickets to the 6 course gin tasting extravaganza at Mechanicco tonight ), anyhow, now I can't/won't be back for a while, and the amount of paddling that I'll be able to fit in is very infrequent, so can't really justify my boat taking up space in the shed. Does any kind soul live/work out near the uni or would be willing to take my boat out to Gobba to my parent's house? (Beer can be provided in the future or cashola transferred into your account for your petrol and time). Thanks!

14.01.2022 Saturday social paddle is on again tomorrow. Paddling from the Wagga Beach at 10am. The river has dropped since the recent rain, with the current level at around 1.5m - perfect for a Saturday morning cruise. Of course the Covid rules apply - see the following link for further information:... https://sites.google.com/view/waggabidgeecc/covid?authuser=0 See more

06.01.2022 Ok, here's how to get started with SUP - maybe not so much for a first timer.....

06.01.2022 Saturday morning social paddle is on again, starting at 10am tomorrow. The water will be around 2.3 metres, which is a great height and temperature should be close to 20 degrees. Perfect for a September paddle. It will be a great morning to hit the water if you've been hibernating through the winter. Also a great warm up to the paddling challenge starting next week (come on down and find out more about the challenge). Of course, covid rules apply.

05.01.2022 The river is great at the moment. Get on it! With daylight savings, there are no excuses! See you on the water.

04.01.2022 What a great evening on the river. Thanks to Jenny Luff, Merridy and Barry for the company. A couple of firsts to mention. Merridy Fairchild went further than before with her first visit to the Wires and the Log (10k round trip marker) and Barry took his canoe to the Log for the first time. Well done to both of you. Cheers Jason Redlich

04.01.2022 Great for kayakers

01.01.2022 TRANSISTION SKILLS The following are not quite text book but used to build confidence and transition into more unstable craft. Also helps to make your current ...paddling more enjoyable. These and other skills will be utilized as part ACTIVE WOMEN have and STEP UP MENTORING program The following need to be mastered in the most stable boat (eg sea kayak) before progressing incrementally to a more unstable boat. So this process maybe be done via Sea kayak > downriver > tk1 > masters k1 > maybe a k1 . The focus of the skills is to ideally get a paddler to a point where they fully TRUST the paddle. It will take time and there will be a laughs along the way. You will find that even the most experienced paddler will do some of these skills as part of their warm up( eg push and pull) So get started 1 x 20 of each drill ( push/ pull, side 2 side, low braces , sweeps ) Please Contact tony directly for more advice or if wish to join the Active women's or Step Up program. Cynthia is vastly experienced, paddled many Murrays, medalled at masters games and coaches our Kayaking 4 Kids program. See more
