24.01.2022 If you see an SES volunteer today, give them a pat on the back. Many of them have been up for a good part of the night after the wild weather yesterday and last night looking after their community.

23.01.2022 As we were finishing work and getting ready for origin, heartless thieves have broken into homes in north Wagga this evening, these un Australian people have removed items out of storage sheds and homes, hidden them in lane ways to later collect them, this is the lowest act! We hope you are all found and prosecuted to the full extent of the law!!! If you have seen or have information regarding this please contact Wagga police (02)6922 2599

23.01.2022 To all who live near and love the river: now that the weather's warming up I thought it might be a good time to share this. The floods back in March have SIGNIFICANTLY changed the river bed and its banks. What used to be nice shallow areas for swimming with kids could now be a lot deeper than you remember. Alternatively, those deep water holes where you've got a rope swing set up might be full of sand and only a couple of feet deep. There's also plenty of submerged objects that never used to be there... Think twice before you jump in, carefully check for submerged items, trees, debris etc and share this info with your friends and family.

15.01.2022 Honestly I no longer know what to think about this community!!! The hard work, blood swet & tears shed by so many to help others, to be undone by scum I for one have had it.

15.01.2022 This just shows there is still so much to do!!!

14.01.2022 SCAM artists have seized on the recent floods and are taking residents’ money, claiming to be fund-raising for North Wagga Public School. The women have targeted Turvey Park, Lloyd, Bourkelands, Glenfield and Glenoak so far, offering to sell lamingtons and sausage rolls which are to be delivered later. North Wagga Public School principal Brad Griffith is outraged the women are taking advantage of people and tarnishing the name of his school by saying they are from the P&C.... I’ve checked with the P&C and no one is doing it for us, we are not raising any money at the moment, Mr Griffith said. An unknown number of women are involved in the scam and are doorknocking throughout the day. Victims said they were targeted in the lead-up to Easter and as recently as last week. (One lady), accompanied by a small child, knocked on my door selling lamingtons for the ‘North Wagga flood appeal’, to be delivered on Easter Saturday, said one victim. Whilst I didn’t particularly want the lamingtons I thought it was a good cause and parted with my $12. The lamingtons failed to appear and now I hear that I was only one of the people of Lloyd that were caught. Wagga police have urged anyone who doubts the legitimacy of people seeking funds for flood relief to contact the station on 6922 2599. Unfortunately there are people within the community who do take advantage, but there are also a lot of people doing fund-raising legitimately, police said.
