10.01.2022 parkrun events all over the world are celebrating female participation tomorrow on Saturday 7 March 2020, ahead of International Womens Day the following day. At Wagga parkrun we want to show our support by encouraging as many women and girls as possible to participate as walkers, joggers, runners and volunteers with a suggested purple dress code on the day. All of our volunteer positions have been filled by Turvey Park Girl Guides and their families. We would love you to jo...in in the celebrations by bringing along a female friend, colleague or family member. parkrun has launched a campaign aimed at addressing and breaking down many of the barriers faced by women and girls and inspiring them to come along to parkrun. The fear of not being fit enough, of being too slow, of not having volunteered before, of coming on your own or uncertainty about what to expect are just some of the barriers that people face, especially women and girls. The campaign will help show that parkrun is for everyone, no matter your age, background, fitness level or gender. And although #IWDparkrun is being held on one day, it is hoped that the impact will be far more long lasting! We hope you can join us tomorrow to celebrate the many women and girls who contribute to the strength of the Wagga parkrun community.

08.01.2022 Hi fellow parkrunners, we at Wagga parkrun hope you are keeping well and safe during these uncertain times. It has come to our attention that people might be organising group runs together in lieu of official parkrun events. Please read the words below, which have come from Paul Sinton-Hewitt, the founder of parkrun: , . ... ( ) . . We would echo Pauls thoughts please, practice social distancing to help protect our more vulnerable community members, stay in contact and parkrun will be back, stronger than ever, on the other side of this virus.
