09.01.2022 SSA NATIONAL TITLES UPDATE Speedway Sedans Australia have been working tirelessly behind the scenes with numerous venues to put in place contingency plans... for all the remaining SSA National Titles. We are now able to confirm that the National Street Stock Title at Latrobe and the National Production Sedan Title at Ellenbrook have both been postponed. These events join the National Modified Sedan Title that scheduled for Carrick, that was postponed last week. However, we are happy to confirm that we have been able to re-schedule dates at the same venues for all three events: 2020 National Production Sedan Title Ellenbrook Speedway, WA 16-18 October 2020 2020 National Street Stock Title Latrobe Speedway, TAS 29-31 October 2020 2020 National Modified Sedan Title Carrick Speedway, TAS 12-14 November 2020 Title nomination fees will be refunded in full to all nominated drivers. Speedway Sedans Australia will then re-open nominations for all rescheduled titles later in the year. We completely understand that who ever wins these events will not get the opportunity to hold them for a long time. However, given the circumstances this is the best option to ensure all these venues still get the chance to host a national title and Speedway Sedans Australia get to crown national champions for 2020. In other news, we can announce a change to the date for the 2021 SSA National Street Stock Title being held at Bunbury. This title will be moved from the Australia Day weekend to Anzac Day weekend with the following new dates: 2021 National Street Stock Title Bunbury Speedway, WA 23, 24 & 25 April 2021 The scheduled change allows the SSA the ability to successfully promote the 3 national titles that were going to be held 3 weeks in a row. Having 3 national titles in succession could have lead to divisions not receiving the promotion and publicity that they deserve and also provide a logistical nightmare trying to get the live stream equipment from Canberra to Bunbury then back down to Latrobe all within days of each other. So a huge thanks must go to Bunbury for moving to their alternate date for the betterment of sedan racing in this country. There are no other changes to the rest of the 2021 National Titles. We’d sincerely like to thank all the clubs involved in these titles for being agile and working with Speedway Sedans Australia to provide an option to reschedule all these events. The current COVID-19 situation is unchartered waters and something none of us as a country or a sport has ever had to deal with. However, it’s pleasing to be able to reschedule all these events later in the year pending government authorities have relaxed all the rules and our sport is able to recommence. Thanks again to everyone for their patience and understanding during this difficult time. Speedway Sedans Australia is fully committed to hosting these events for all our drivers and working as hard as possible to continue to promote and foster sedan racing in this country. Ends release.

09.01.2022 Glade to lend a hand .. the more hands the lighter the work ..

09.01.2022 Hi everyone as everyone knows the current environment. On behalf of Wagga Speedway Club and Gasworks Motorsport Inc it is with regret that we have to inform you that due to the unprecedented circumstances of the COVID 19 Virus that we have taken the decision to cancel the Vintage Speedcar and Speedway Sedan event scheduled for the 28th March . We have been monitoring the situation very closely over the past weeks assessing the risks involved are minimised and to ensure the w...elfare of all concerned as part of our statutory obligation to "Duty of Care ". . It has become obvious that as the situation is slowly unravelling and as each day passes we see more movement and event gathering restrictions imposed. In light of these developments the decision has in effect been taken out of our hands with the Government and in particular the Chief Medical Officer recommending restrictions on current gathering and movements etc .. To be fair to everyone we needed to make the decision as early as possible to minimise expenses incurred and for those inter & intra -state participants , the exposure to additional costs from cancellations of travel and accommodation bookings, along with the potential contagiousness of the COVID 19 Virus. We apologise for any inconvenience from this decision. Thanks Jason Boardman Secretary WSC
