21.01.2022 Great work to all volunteers at Blazeaid Adelong. The club had the pleasure of cooking dinner and breakfast from them this weekend. Nice 5:30 start this morning cooking up a hot breakfast of bacon, eggs, sausages rissoles and onion gravy and some jacket potatoes.

21.01.2022 It's a white out up at Cabramurra today! We are happy to see some more snow falling in the mountains with more falls expected this weekend.

20.01.2022 Perfect example of what not to do and shows quite well why a snatch is so dangerous. Luckily no one was hurt during this failed recovery!

16.01.2022 Volunteer firefighters have captured the nation’s imagination, but there’s a force of unsung heroes flying under the radar. Specialist crews have saved an ancient grove of Wollemi Pines from the fires in New South Wales. Its ancestors stood tall some 200 million years ago.

16.01.2022 STORIES FROM THE FIRELINE: Within the firegrounds, there is hope & recovery. These images from our staffer BJ show Pilot Hill Arboretum in fire-affected Bago St...ate Forest, near Tumbarumba (Note: the site is still closed due to safety reasons). There are some dangerous tees that need removal & the access road from The Eight Mile needs clearing, however there is still plenty of green in this treasured area. #onwards #forestry #firemanagement #forestmanagement #pilothill #tumbarumba #snowys Visit Snowy Valleys See more

14.01.2022 STORIES FROM THE FIRELINE: Forestry staffer BJ captured these images at Paling Yards & Paddys River Dam in Bago State Forest in Jan. 2020. Whilst there are enco...uraging patches of green, fire damage means these areas remain dangerous & unsafe for visitors. As a result, Bago State Forest, it's visitor areas & access roads are CLOSED. There are some extremely dangerous trees in this area that may collapse at any time. The risk of tree fall is very real. Visitors are asked to avoid these areas for safety. So please, avoid the embarassment of being asked to leave and #stayhome, #staysafe. #forestrecovery #makesafe #forestry #firemanagement #tumbarumba #bagostateforest Visit Snowy Valleys See more

13.01.2022 Notice anything in these photos?! We can't emphasise enough why it is important to stay out of State forests that are still closed. These pics not far from a po...pular rec area in Bago State Forest near #Tumbarumba and #Batlow show some of the issues we've seen and dangers they create. If you look closely you can see smoke rising from the bridge - we are currently assessing forests for risks like these, but ask for your help and patience in avoiding closed areas. The full closure list can be found here: https://www.forestrycorporation.com.au//widespread-closure #firemanagement #forestry #forestmanagement #makesafe #staysafe

12.01.2022 Working on keeping tracks open the Association had meeting with NPWS, DPI, Fisheries, and Alinta Energy re inconsiderate water egress on the Cox's River at Marr...angaroo NP with trout spawning areas getting trashed on a regular basis. Signage and boulders will be put in place but there is a lot of government bureaucracy to wade through before its finalised. Nigel Ward scored a win in ensuring two access points on the east side of the crossing are retained. 3329'3.30"S, 150 4'30.28"E See more

04.01.2022 An awesome effort from members of Four Wheel Drive NSW & ACT clubs, volunteers spent their weekend repairing the damaged Currawong campground caused by someone ...doing circle work and driving in restricted areas. Bollards and cabling installed, wheel ruts repaired, native grass seeded and fallen trees cut up and stacked to be used as firewood, hopefully in time for the campground to be opened so everyone can enjoy the next long weekend. Putting in bollards is not a favourite pastime but the alternative is permanent closure. We all have a role to play, it's okay to report vandalism. Please report the number plates of anyone doing damage to the land managers or ranger and help to keep these beautiful areas open for all. A big thank you to the guests that helped as well. 04.01.2022 Always good to have a look up.

04.01.2022 Wondering why some State Forests remain closed post-bushfires? Here's one reason : burned / melted under-road infrastructure. Our Forestry staffer Dean shared ...these images from Tallaganda State Forest with the caption "There’s a hole in the road, he said. Well just a small one". We're working on making all fire-affected forests safe again. It's a big job, but we're getting there. #forestry #forests #forestmanagement #makesafeworks #postbushfireworks #recovery #loveourforests
