24.01.2022 We are a responsible grower of Lucerne fodder/Tagasaste tube stock- please inbox for orders and enquires.

20.01.2022 I love the versatility of the Lucerne fodder tree. Not only does it have a high crude protein content to feed livestock, it can also be used as a wind break to protect the rest of your pasture or can be used to form hedging. Its also fire retardant and prevents soil erosion. Thats a huge thumbs up from me

18.01.2022 Below is a good read if you are interested in planting some lucerne fodder trees or you already have them and want to learn more about this wonderful tree https://lucernetreefarm.wordpress.com/tree-info/

15.01.2022 I thought I would share some ways in which you can use your lucerne fodder trees. The first method which I think is super cool is the chipping method. Before the tree flowers you prune the branches and run them through a chipper, allow the chipped fodder to dry out fully before bagging up. This is a great way to add high protein chaff to livestocks feed. Below is a great resource from a farmer in South Africa. https://lucernetreefarm.wordpress.com/chipped-food/

11.01.2022 I have been thinking about thinning out some large gums on my property and possibly removing one for some time now. Dont get me wrong they are beautiful trees and I hate the thought of removing any tree. But with the bushfires on my door step it has highlighted this risk even more so. If we escape this fire unharmed I will be planting a heap more Lucerne fodder trees on our boundaries as they are fire retardant and maintaining the gums yearly. If one has to be removed it ...will be our fire wood for the year. This will also increase my livestocks food security with climate change. The aim is to only supplement a small amount of grain in the event of drought along with chipped fodder. Its never too early to start future proofing your property. Below is a link to some handy fodder tree information. Stay safe everyone http://victoriaparkalpacastud.com.au/Tastee_Tagasastee.pdf

03.01.2022 The Lucerne fodder tree is drought tolerant and ever green once established and can survive cold temperatures down to -9 degrees. A very useful tree to drought proof your property. Livestock can eat from the trees and prune them right back and they return after a few months. Its deep tap roots work great to stabilise and add nitrogen back into surrounding soils.

02.01.2022 Another idea for utilising the Lucerne fodder tree! This is the reason I love theses trees so much As you can see in the video the landscape is heavily in drought yet the Lucerne fodder tree is keeping this horse alive and busy! What a fantastic drought tolerant tree! I have been working towards drought proofing my property over the past few years and my trees are now self sustaining. I wont be leaving my animals food security to chance https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=0hXLq8dYwrM
