09.01.2022 Some interesting history on the Merino breed and the Wool industry in Australia. By the 1950s Australia ‘rode on the sheep’s back’; those who grew the wool had come to symbolise and epitomise what it was to be Australian. Wagin Agricultural Society is proud to host one of the most well renowned and internationally recognised Merino and Wool exhibits in WA every year in March.

08.01.2022 This year's Perth Royal Show has been cancelled and phase five will now be delayed to at least October 24th This morning I informed the Royal Agricultural So...ciety that the show cannot go ahead this year, WA Premier Mark McGowan said. Obviously, this news will be very disappointing for many families, for many businesses and of course for many regional farming communities. The annual show was due to run from 26 September to 3 October. What do you think of the decision?

05.01.2022 Thank you to our newest volunteer Ashleigh for helping to create wonderful news stories about Woolorama! Ashleigh Baxter is a local girl who grew up on a crop and sheep farm in Woodanilling. She attended Curtin University, completing a degree in Public Relations and Advertising. While she now lives in Perth, Ash still comes home at every opportunity as she is a country girl at heart and loves getting away from the hustle and bustle to recharge. ... Ashleigh has always been a lover of words and if she is not reading, you’ll likely find her using any additional spare time writing or getting creative. We are lucky to have her onboard!!
