The AS/NZS 5532 was created to supplement the AS/NZS 1891 series, to create a manufacturing performance requirement for testing of single point anchors used for harness-based work at height, exclusively for the protection of personnel. ... WAHA requested SafeWork NSW review their position on AS/NZS 5532 Standard which is a current and relevant standard which forms part of the body of knowledge and is indeed now used by the majority of manufacturers in industry to design and test anchors. These events have allowed the WAHA members to convene and discuss local industry news, listen to guest presenters from industry bodies such as Standards Australia and SafeWork, and connect over working at heights and confined spaces topics.
