01.01.2022 WHELPING AND AFTER THE BIRTH When a dog is preparing to give birth, it is a long and tiring process for her. After each birth, as each pup takes turns feeding before the next one is born, the mum has 20-30mins to rest before contractions start again...sometimes even less. We are there through the whole process making sure she eats before and after whelping to keep her energy levels up and to make sure there are no complications...other than that she does it all by herself!! After all pups are born mummas body goes into overdrive with milk production as her body knows what her young pups need. In our girls' diet we include all the nutrients her and her babies need to stay healthy and grow strong. We also introduce some calcium if needed to make sure her milk supply can maintain all her babies feeding demands.
