25.01.2022 GAME DAY TOMORROW See everyone at Thurgoona to support all our lions

25.01.2022 ** Farewell and Thank You ** As many of us know one of our favorite long time entrenched families to be involved at the club are leaving us for the sunshine state and to keep a watchful eye over their son Cody. Ray and Lou Milne together have been involved with the Wahgunyah Football Netball Club for over 30 years. Ray having arrived at the club in 1984 is a past Senior Coach having coached for 3 years at this level. Ray was also an accomplished player who racked up over 5...0 games before being forced into early retirement due to persistent hamstring injuries. When his playing days were over Ray continued to dedicate his time to the club. An accomplished junior coach throughout the 90’s while also being an active committee person to this current day. The tireless voluntary committee work through the decades along with his representation on the Recreation Reserve committee will be something that not only our club but also our community can be forever grateful for. Lou having been involved at the club from around the same period of time that Ray arrived in the 80’s has been a constant feature in the behind the scenes functioning of the Tigers and Lions eras. Lou had a brief netball career before turning her attention into heading the running of the Canteen committee through testing times. A period of time served as Secretary through diverse times and and ever evolving landscape of football and netball clubs saw Lou take this role and set the bar ever so high. In most recent years Lou has served on the general committee as well as being involved in accounts payable up until this year. Her hard work, passion and goodwill attitude is a testament to her and her family. The Milne legacy will forever be involved at Wahgunyah with Elise, Paige and Cody all representing and calling the club home just as Ray and Lou did for so many years. From us all at the Wahgunyah Lions Football Netball Club a big thank you for everything that this family has given over such a long period of time. Stay safe and enjoy the sea change. You guys will be greatly missed but never forgotten for what you have done. Go Lions

25.01.2022 Merchandise Announcement A big thank you firstly to all that have paid for their apparel and waited patiently for its arrival. I can announce that we have had arrive at the club one part of our order including polos, training singlets and caps. The remainder of our order which includes hoodies, jackets, puffers, bags, shorts and pants is scheduled to arrive Monday. ... We hope to distribute the merchandise to those who put in a specific order from next week down at the club. We did order extras in most items however these will become available once everyone who ordered items has collected what they purchased. Apologies for the delay again as somethings were taken out of our control along the way.

22.01.2022 As we are all now aware of the situation that has unfolded in Victoria over the last couple of days. We have had to make some changes to our training schedules for this upcoming week. Training for all JUNIOR Football and all SENIOR Football has been relocated to the RSL Park in Corowa for Tuesday 16th Feb. Juniors will commence at 5pm with Seniors commencing at 6pm. ... Training for all JUNIOR Netball and all SENIOR Netball has been relocated to Morris Park Netball Courts in South Corowa for Tuesday 16th Feb. Juniors commencing at 5pm and Senior grades at 6pm. Pending further announcements from the Vic state government throughout the week a decision will be made on future training locations with these announcements taken into consideration and distributed to you all ASAP

21.01.2022 To all of our valued members, players, coaches, supporters and sponsors we are saddened to inform you all of the decision to cancel season 2020. We value our communities health and well being and this is currently our most important issue and one in which we all must continue to adhere to. We now look forward to moving on and seeing you all in 2021.... Be safe and look out for each other.

17.01.2022 Return to Training Update Beginning tomorrow night we are slowly recommencing training for our Football Grades from our Seniors down to our Under 14's over three nights this week. As this is our first week back and with protocols that MUST be adhered to we ask for a little patience as we strive to strictly follow all of the restrictions. This week is a learning phase for us all so we ask you politely if you are not a individual of a group allocated to training this week p...lease DO NOT TURN UP. Strict social distancing and hygiene measures stand. Please for the safety of yours and others within our community if you don't think you can adhere to these DO NOT TURN UP. We are hoping to provide a place of enjoyment and comradery in what has been a difficult time for many individuals. If we can follow the processes then this will be much easier on everyone involved as we look to take a small step back into. Each coach can be contacted privately for more information reading the sessions and what our framework for meeting these protocols are. **Reminder also for anyone who hasn’t as yet to download the Covid Safe App. This is a non negotiable for anyone entering the premises.

16.01.2022 Return to Training Update As most people are now aware AFL VIC and Netball VIC in collaboration with our local leagues governing bodies have issued a return to training list of protocols. The return to training protocols are complex and also require some education as to how we can all safely return to training. The club throughout the remainder of this week will work through these protocols and be in touch with each age groups coach of both football and netball to see w...hat set of rules, regulations, timelines and resources needed to make sure we can meet these protocols. This doesn’t mean that we can simply just turn up and begin as was the case before this pandemic and we must remain vigilant. Please be patient as we decipher all of this information and relay it to the personnel needed throughout the club. 11.01.2022 Training Update With the lifting of restrictions from 11.59pm tonight all Football and Netball training will recommence back at Wahgunyah from tomorrow night onwards. COVID-19 Regulations and practices must still be adhered to. This is in line with AFL Vic, Netball Vic and DEWLP.... For all training info and any further details contact each coach individually. We as a club will distribute all relevant updates through various communication pathways as they come to fruition. We are in frequent discussion with our governing bodies and as new information is gathered we will endeavour to update all involved at our club. If you have any questions about this current situation please do not hesitate to get in touch with relevant organizations. We as a club will strive to ensure that the health and safety of everyone involved at our club and the broader community remains paramount.

09.01.2022 NOW OFFERING DRIVE THROUGH TAKEAWAY MEALS! - Beginning this Thursday 26th March - Due to the new legislation that has been brought in and not being able t...o offer a dine-in environment we have made the decision to offer a drive through menu for everyone’s convenience. This will be available Thursday to Saturday lunch & dinner! Call through or message us your order & we will let you know when to pick up your meal. Tap & go payment will be available and we kindly ask everyone to use this option for payment to minimise the handling of cash.

05.01.2022 Announcement Tomorrow’s meet and greet event at Rowers park will begin at 12.30pm with the afternoon winding up at 2.30pm. Social distancing is to be adhered to while we will also have to sign in via QR code upon arrival. Drinks and food will be supplied while we will also have some merchandise outstanding from this year and some new hats that will be on sale available to purchase via card only .... 04.01.2022 SAVE THE DATE The club will be holding a Working Bee Sunday 21st Feb commencing at 10.30am. We would encourage as many people as possible to come down and help for an hour or two as there is plenty to do prior to our much anticipated 2021 season. ... All equipment will be supplied for the variety of tasks needed to be undertaken. A BBQ and drinks will be supplied when the hard work is over.

04.01.2022 Trials will be held at John Foord Oval on Wednesday 18th November and Wednesday 25th November. 11 & Under and 13 & Under will be from 4:30pm-5:30pm. 15 & under... and 17 & Under will be from 5:30pm-6:30pm. Please wear non representative clothing. Must bring water bottle and medication if required. Must attend both sessions, if unable please contact Georgie Bruce immediately. With the spread of COVID-19 increasing across Victoria it has been decided that all future training nights and practice matches scheduled for the Wahgunyah Football and Netball Club for the foreseeable future are to be cancelled immediately until further notice.... The safety and welfare of our players, volunteers and officials and their families are our number one priority. We will provide further updates throughout our communication platforms as they come to light over the next 24-48 hours following key meetings that are currently taking place. I insist those concerned to communicate with us privately at the club in a pleasant manner while we digest all the information we receive to ensure the action we take is of stipulated guidelines in reducing the risk of spreading COVID-19 throughout the community. 02.01.2022 ANNOUNCEMENT Senior and Under 18’s begin trials tonight (Thursday 4th) at 6 pm and follow into next Tuesday and Thursday. Junior netball Under 13’s and Under 15’s commence training on the 11th Feb and will have trials beginning on the 25th Feb. Training will start at 5pm sharp and go until 6pm.... Midgets training date to be confirmed and announced at a later date
