22.01.2022 Things like thermal expansion and contraction in the site foundation or propping gates open are common causes for pool gates to stop 'self closing'. December is national "Check your pool Gate month"! We recommend that every year you contact your fencing contractor and get a service call to make sure all your gates are self closing and latching and your area is still certifiable. It is so important to keep our little Australians safe around pools.

10.01.2022 Hints - Tips - Advice What causes white marks on Waterline tiles? Answer -... - Calcium typically forms and becomes visible on swimming pool tiles at some stage in the life of almost every pool. - Calcium can form on tiles when they get wet. The water evaporates and the calcium and minerals in the water are left behind to dry and solidify on the tiles. - Calcium can seep out through the cement that binds the top coping tiles (horizontal tiles at waters’ edge) above the vertical waterline tiles. Without doubt this is the most common cause of calcium formation in swimming pools. - To minimize calcium build up on your pool surfaces it is important that the pool water stay balanced with a constant calcium reading of between 200-400 ppm for a Magna pool and 150-250 ppm for a salt water pool. - Fortnightly cleaning of your waterline tiles is advisable to minimize calcium buildup. - Special scrubbers can be purchased from most pool shops for calcium removal.
