25.01.2022 Here's a little light hearted but important and timely hand washing reminder. It's also worthwhile looking at the WHO instructions for proper hand washing. At WVD we're passionate about hand washing and dedicated to impeccable levels of hygiene - it's part of our routine measures. We're taking all our standard precautions and extra to keep us all safe. We've been asking patients of our practice to let us know well in advance if they're feeling unwell so we can reschedule them... and we've been grateful for people's care and consideration for eachother. Take care and bump feet or elbows - no hand shaking for now. https://theholdernessfamily.com/20-second-parodies-for-han/

24.01.2022 This year, as we embarked on 2020, we made the conscious decision to up the anti on reducing our footprint. . We have been making changes slowly over the last couple of years but with the start to the year sadly shadowed with loss and fear with the devastating fires, drought & then the floods, this gave us an increased longing to better ourselves further. . No matter what side of the fence you sit on with matters of science & politics; a decision to be more thoughtful with wa...ste and usage can only be a good idea am I right!? . Making changes in our industry has to be done carefully and cautiously as we have to adhere to the standards not only set by ourselves for our practice but set by our governing bodies. We take all this very seriously . So... enter our latest triumph (among others)... finding these babies pictured The toothbrush handle is 100% biodegradable and made from cornstarch (free from BPA ) Both the floss and brush come in recyclable packaging with no more plastic! And to boot, 10c of every floss in a box and toothbrush packet we purchase goes to @mcgrathfoundation We call this a win win . Being conscious when it comes to things like wastage, usage and our overall impact is so important in an industry like ours. There are certain elements we can never change due to our legal requirements and our commitment to keeping to the highest of standards, but as we look into this issue further and further we are finding that there are some things we can safely change. This is exciting and empowering and we’re feeling pretty good about it! #reduceyourfootprint #littlethingscanmakebigimpacts #startsmall #thinkbig #enjoythelittlewins #happyhealthyfuture @wahroongavalleydentistry See more

24.01.2022 Looking at photos from a couple of years back when we could all hang out together outside of work! . This was such a lovely day for our team enjoying each other’s company outside of our busy surgery . We are so super lucky to have such a great team, that are supportive of one another both professionally & personally!... . During this time of Covid it has been hard for everyone, especially keeping up with all changes to our lifestyles. It’s such a comfort to know that we as a team are striding ahead and making sure that our workplace is safe, up to standard and continuing to be a happy & fun place! It makes all the difference in my opinion . Hopefully we can have another catch up like this one soon, without restriction. that won’t be too far away! . Stay safe and well everyone, from all here at WVD See more

23.01.2022 Welcome little Hamish. Congratulations to Blanche, Beau and Alice. Blanche Sadler

21.01.2022 This was just too gorgeous not to share I think a lot of us are feeling a little despondent about the current situation & wondering if we will ever get back to our ‘normal’ way of living. . These words are a gentle reminder that we will return to our old lives eventually and perhaps we’ll just be a little more grateful for all the little things like a kiss & cuddle to say hello or the humble hand shake. .... Hang in there peeps, from all here at WVD #we’rehereforyou #forallyourdentalneeds #we’reinthistogether ... repost from @estella_nyc See more

20.01.2022 Team! I had the sudden realization that we haven’t shared many team WVD photos! Hard to believe as our team is the heart and soul of this place . Here at WVD, we are blessed to have a hard working, caring, committed & educated team that work together towards a common goal of bringing expert care to our patients in a warm & comfortable space. .... We genuinely care about you- our patients; and each other. We hope you feel that when you come to our practice . To part, here’s a little quote that sums it up pretty well Teamwork is the ability to work together toward a common vision. The ability to direct individual accomplishments toward organizational objectives. It is the fuel that allows common people to attain uncommon results - Andrew Carnegie Here’s to a fab 2020 everyone! #teamwork #team #moreteamwvdphotos2020 #teamworkiskey #happyteam #happyworkplace @wahroongavalleydentistry See more

14.01.2022 COVID-19 Update: we hope you're safe and well and want to let you know that we're here for you. Whilst there are restrictions on dental procedures the regulatory bodies have advised us many of these will be lifted. From April 27th, we will be able to see more patients and do more procedures than we were able to under the current restrictions. Your health and safety is paramount to us so we are running at reduced capacity to maintain social distancing with fewer people in our... surgery and more time between patients to allow for additional cleaning measures over and above. The Prime Minister has affirmed that dental care is important and needs to be accessed during COVID-19. We'll continue to prioritise urgent issues and we'll be seeing people for exams so we can continue to identify and address any issues early on. We appreciate your understanding that restrictions remain on certain procedures at least for now. Over the last month we are conscious that the restrictions and safety measures put in place meant we had to cancel more than 90% of our appointments - we thank you for your patience during this time. This lift in restrictions will allow us to reschedule many of those appointments. Call us on 94871858 if you have any questions or concerns. Stay at home if you feel unwell. If you have a fever, cough or difficulty breathing, seek medical attention and call us in advance. Follow the directions of your local health authority. (WHO)

14.01.2022 It's important to take time to appreciate and celebrate, it's a privilege to work with the amazing people at WVD. Early December we all got out and had a bit of fun before the December COVID cases hit..... here are a few photos. We're super excited for Blanche and we'll miss her smiley, cheerful, caring and hard-working self while she enjoys time with her precious little one on maternity leave for the next six or so months. We're very pleased to have Brooke provide hygiene sessions on Tuesdays while Blanche is away and Fridays going forward. Thankful for an amazing group of people to work with.

12.01.2022 We are indeed, all in this together. It is with great relief that we can announce that our current level 3 restrictions will be downgraded to level 2 restrictions as of Monday 27th April. . With this level, it means that we can see more patients & be able to do more procedures beyond just urgent or emergency care. However, some restrictions on certain procedures are still in place. . The easing of these restrictions come as a result of an assessment of risk by the Australian ...Health Protection Principal Committee (AHPPC), passed down to us by the Australian Dental Association & governing bodies. . We will still be abiding by the current social distancing laws within the surgery by working in teams, lengthening appointment times & encouraging patients to wait in their cars till we can call you straight into the surgery for your appointment. . We can assure all of you, our patients, that we are taking the utmost care with our day to day running of the practice. Our infection control, as always, remains impeccable. We have added additional measures to combat the spread of Covid-19 specifically as well. We continue to screen patients prior to appointments. The same rules apply that you should; stay home if unwell if you have a fever, cough or difficulty breathing- seek medical attention follow the directions of your local health authority let us know if you need to cancel your appointment as soon as you can . We remain vigilant & dedicated & oh so grateful to you all for your understanding at this time. We know a lot of you take pride in coming for your regular check ups & that this situation could be causing stress in terms of your oral health among many other things. But the lightening of restrictions means we are a step closer to some sort of normality. . Please feel free to call us on 9487-1858 if you have any questions. We might likely be calling you to try to re-schedule or make an appointment if we are able. . In the meantime, take care, keep safe & we hope you are enjoying some of what this autumn has to offer #covid19update #dentistryisessential #wvd See more

09.01.2022 Given we can't work from home we're implementing multiple strategies to increase social distancing and protect us all in this time of Corona Virus. Watch the video to hear more about our split team initiative and other measures we've implemented. We've done this to halve our group size and patient numbers at any one time and allow us to keep serving you. We're still open Monday to Friday, each clinician is doing fewer days but with longer hours. Take care everyone and if you're feeling unwell let us know ahead of time and we'll happily reschedule your appointment. 94871858.

09.01.2022 We regularly get asked "how often do I need my teeth professionally cleaned?". We're very fortunate to have both Brooke and Blanche as Hygienists on our team. In this short video Brooke gives some answers on this question and why many of our patients also see one of our Hygienists.

08.01.2022 We live in one of the most beautiful parts of the world. The view from the "office" is pretty stunning. As we were looking out the window today, this little guy caught our attention. Sheryl went and captured some footage of him wandering around the car park and then he wandered off. To her great surprise about 30 minutes later he walked into our building and past her reception desk. Lester and Josh with the help of Saadet were able to relocate him back to the bush near by. All in a days work at WVD.

08.01.2022 Being able to breathe when you sleep, to state the obvious, is really important. It's something we as dentists are well placed to pick up on. When you're laying back in the chair under a bright light it's a good time to check tonsils, the shape of the roof of your mouth and other indicators you might have sleep apnoea. In this short video Amy and Josh talk about picking this up in kids. It's also something we look for in adults as well. Please ask us about this at your next check up if you have concerns. Picking up sleep apnoea early can have a huge impact on your life.

06.01.2022 At the end of the week it's nice to look back fondly on the week that was. We're lucky to have an amazing team and culture where we actually enjoy what we do and take great pride in providing the highest quality of care. We have Lester to thank for creating such a great work culture but it takes a team of amazing people to maintain it. In this short video Lester and Fiona talk about our work culture forty years and six months in respectively at WVD. #weloveourwork

02.01.2022 This week is Dental Health Week. This is an initiative run by the ADA (Australian Dental Association) which aims to educate Australians on the importance of keeping your oral health in check . This year the major focus is on the harm that SUGAR does to your oral health . Today, two of the staff here at WVD went to visit our local pre-school to help them promote dental health week & to teach the children all about visiting the dentist and the importance of making ‘happy t...eeth’ food choices as well as how to brush their teeth properly . We always have a great time teaching and interacting with the little ones, and we think they get a lot of information out of our visits which they can hopefully use when the are at home #daycarevisits #enthusiastickids #dentalhealthweek @adanswbranch #educationiskey #knowledgeispower #nomatterhowyoung #healthyfoodchoices #knowyoursugarintake @wahroongavalleydentistry See more
