24.01.2022 Week 11 of our seniors food drop.... tonight we made 34 mains and 24 soups , taking our total ‘serves’ over the 900 mark ... once again thanks to David and the team from Waikerie Foodland who donated some corned beef this week .. please support our locals who continue to support us...thanks also to Trippa and Matty who kindly donated pumpkins..

20.01.2022 Week 9 of our seniors food drop... tonight we made another 40 mains, Chicken Maryland & veg .. 30 soups and 24 sweets for our elderly isolated members .. thanks again to Waikerie Foodland who donated chicken for this week , Matty , Mark and Aaron for produce donations and to Beryl for her ‘anonymous’ donation of cash ... just great from a community member who has no ties with the club but offered her support.. thank you ! Another week closer to normality!!!

17.01.2022 GREAT NEWS.... Word came through today that Waikerie Bowling Club’s Grant Application for our ‘Dome’ project was successful!!!!! Support from the District Council of Loxton Waikerie , the Bowling Club and our members allowed us to put forward a credible grant application which has been approved. What a great boost this will be to Waikerie and the Riverland Bowling fraternity... An official announcement will be made by our Federal Member , Tony Pasin at Waikerie Bowling Club... on Friday June 5th at 2pm.. All welcome to attend .. Strict Covid-19 rules apply.. 08.01.2022 Things are getting back to normal here in sunny South Australia.... Waikerie Bowling Club members draw is back on ... $325 this week... if you are a member , a social member or a night bowler .. you are in the draw .... drinks and the draw on Friday nights from 5pm. All Welcome Keep an eye out for our Monthly Meal night resuming at the end of July ....

05.01.2022 Our final cook tonight for our seniors food drop. It has been a very rewarding project for the club , for our four volunteers and in particular for our senior isolated members with over 1000 serves delivered. Thanks also to everyone for their positive feedback, including our local federal member Mr Tony Pasin and various media outlets who have recognized our effort. Most importantly, this project was conceived for the benefit of our most vulnerable senior members and given... the feedback received, we have achieved our goals. Deliveries will continue for another couple of weeks as we exhaust our freezer stocks and so we look forward to that positive contact continuing as things head towards the new normal. 03.01.2022 Waikerie Bowling Club’s famous Meal Night is to return on Friday July 31st. Bookings are now open at the clubrooms, a current limit of 100 patrons applies and group bookings are limited to 10 people. Booking sheet is on the notice board. Social distancing rules apply and all patrons are advised to adhere to COVID safe practices while on premises. Enquiries to Andy 0428412202

03.01.2022 Attention all Waikerie bowlers and night bowlers....See media release below .. all bowling activity to cease from midnight tonight for two weeks .... BY BOWLSSA7 Monday, November 16, 4pm... MEDIA RELEASE: All bowls activity cease play Following the announcement from the State Government this afternoon, all lawn bowls activity will cease immediately in South Australia until further notice. This is part of the restriction which will see all competitive sport and training (indoor and outdoor) cancelled for the next two weeks as of midnight tonight. Bowls SA is currently working with the State Government to help get a handle on the situation. We will provide more information to Bowls SA member associations, clubs, players and stakeholders as it comes to hand. Until that time, we urge all South Australians to follow all the guidelines and restrictions announced by the State Government this afternoon to help contain the situation.

03.01.2022 Week 7 of our seniors food drop , tonight we prepared 32 main courses for next week’s delivery.. Bolar Roast Beef and Veggies.. Once again huge thanks to David and the team at Waikerie Foodland who this week donated the beef for our seniors. The Mighty South Aussies... This takes our total of main meals to 216 with a similar number of soups and sweets already made and delivered..

02.01.2022 Week 6 of our seniors food drop... today our volunteers made 18 soups , 24 mains and 30 sweets for delivery early next week.. Thanks this week to David and the team at Waikerie Foodland who donated 60 sausages for our main course of curried sausages and rice... Waikerie Foodland have been doing a magnificent job looking after our community in recent weeks , under great pressure... well done and thank-you to all their staff... We also took delivery of a donation of some cartons of Red Wine from local vigneron Ross Mayfield... thanks to Ross for his generous support.

01.01.2022 Week 14 of our seniors food drop and the project is nearing completion as things are getting back to normal.. it has been great to provide our senior members with some quality easy meals to help get them thru the covid crisis ... we have now made close to 1000 serves including mains , soups and sweets throughout the past couple of months. Great thanks to our members , community members and businesses that have supported the project and made it so successful. In particular we would like to thank David and the team at Waikerie Foodland for all their support, it was a great effort and much appreciated. We are still delivering for the next couple of weeks to clear out the freezers ready for bowls to fire up. Thanks again for your support!
