23.01.2022 We are currently staying open but are experiencing large volumes of people needing assistance. We need to practice social distancing to help protect us and you. We can only have two people in the office at any one time you will be asked to wait in your car or outside until we can attend to you. If you are waiting please remember the 1.5metre restrictions. Apologies for any delays you experience with our service at this time
21.01.2022 Hi everyone, we will be creating a new facebook page and website in the next few weeks, then this page will be deleted, we will invite you to the new page once it has been finalized. Hope you all have a great week.
20.01.2022 Hi everyone, today the internet was down in the area which in turn affected not only the hubs computers but centrelink landlines as well. We were advised that this SHOULD be rectified by tomorrow however this is only a guide. If you need to travel into waikerie, it may be advisable to call ahead to ensure the self service terminals and phone lines are working before you make the trip in. Please where you can download the centrelink express app on your mobile phone, or on your... pc, laptop create a mygov account so you can report etc. You can also contact centrelink directly to report on 133276, 7 days a week 24 hours a day. Please call the hub office on 08 85413496 with any questions in the meantime. The office is open between 9am -2pm. We appologise in advance for any inconvenience caused. And hope telstra has been able to rectify this ongoing issue overnight. Thanks Donna. See more
19.01.2022 2019 was an interesting year at the Hub. Learning how to run a business, relocating the office and taking on some new projects were all new experiences for us. We had 2603 presentations for Centrelink Services 824 presentations to see visiting services 531 general enquiries... 337 requests for assistance with food, bedding, personal care items 541 items donated to Share the Dignity as well as 66 completed handbags for mothers, women and teenagers 34 hanbags/gift bags distributed for xmas locally. We again participated in the Riverland Christmas Appeal distributing 99 hampers and gifts to 66 children. All this work would not be possible without some very generous donations. For the most part many of the donors dont wish to be acknowledged publicly but it would be impossible for us to assist those in the community needing a hand up without this generosity. On behalf of the recipients to these individuals, groups and organisations we say a very big THANKYOU!! Happy New Year !!
19.01.2022 Today is my last day as owner of the hub Donna officially takes over tomorrow. I would like to say a massive thank you to all those community volunteers who made donations. Business and Not for Profits who work tirelessly often behind the scence to make lives better. It has been a great pleasure to work with you all and I am sure you will welcome Donna and give her all the assistance I had. Many thanks Sharon

16.01.2022 Good afternoon everyone. Just a friendly reminder that covid rules are still permitted and need to be adhered to for everyones safety. If you have any symptoms of having a cough or a cold, please refrain from coming to the hub, and contact us by phone for any questions you may have.
16.01.2022 If you have been affected by Covid 19 and have lost your income. Please give us a call and ask how I can assist you there are a number of things now available to the general community so please dont hesitate. There is no need to go without food or medication for example. If we all stick together we will get through this. ... If anyone is interested in helping out those over 70 who now should be staying at home pls let me know.

16.01.2022 Hi everyone, just needing to address a few things, we have great people in the community that use the hub 99% of the time. Most of you we have built wonderful friendships with and value you. However we have had 2 separate instances today where there has been aggressive behavior toward staff for not providing these people with the answers they were looking for. We are NOT a centrelink office, we are NOT centrelink staff we are a agent here to help you to fill in paperwork, gu...ide and direct you as per government regulations. WE DO NOT MAKE DECISIONS IN RELATION TO YOUR PAYMENTS AND WHEN YOU WILL BE PAID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. so if you are unhappy with an outcome, please do not take it out on the staff at the hub, call centrelink or better still go to the Berri office, YOU WILL BE TOLD TO LEAVE AND YOU WILL BE BANNED FROM ENTERING THE BUILDING if you dont the police will be called to remove you. I will not tolerate behavior like this. Also if you are needing furniture including mattresses and the like we can refer you to other services in the community and again we dont have any say in what you may or may not receive from these providers. Services in waikerie are there to help you, you are not automatically entitled to be given items for free by not for profit organisations, we will guide and help you anyway we can, however just to let you know, we are not obligated nor paid to do this, we do it because we want to help the people in the community. Security cameras will be placed in the hub for staff and customers security. Please be nice we are only here to help you. Thanks Donna See more

05.01.2022 We are often asked about donations of goods, and what is needed to help the community. Please see below a list of things we regularly need for the homeless and those in need. Toiletries = Good new/used towels, bath mats, face washers Those supplies you collect when you stay in accommodation are always handy. Linen = Clean quilts, blankets, sheets and pillows ... Warm items = Gloves, scarfs and beanies Childrens toys Non perishable food items Fruit and Veggies Bread We also regularly have people who go into accommodation after homelessness these people often have nothing to furnish their homes if you have suitable items, then either talk to the ladies at Intercare or us about these items. We can store somethings at the hub, but space is limited. Please inbox us with items you may have or drop them into intercare. If you have any additional questions please feel free to call, inbox the page or pop into the hub to chat about it. We appreciate your continued generosity, helping the community. If you are a person who needs some items please pop into the hub and we will arrange a pack to give you free of charge. Please do not feel that you cannot ask. This is what we are here for. Donna.
