24.01.2022 COVID-19 UPDATE: Tuesday 17 November The COVID-19 situation in South Australia is evolving, so we’re making some changes to ensure our clinics remain a safe and hygienic environment. Here’s what you need to know today:... Our clinic locations remain open (including Next Gen) Our opening hours remain the same Our Next Gen Memorial Drive location is accessible via the carpark (no gym access) Additional health precautions are in place at all locations including mandatory masks for staff and patients on site and increased screening questions. Temperature checks will remain, and you will be asked to leave the location if your temperature equals or exceeds 37.5 degrees. As always, please do the right thing and stay home if you are unwell or showing symptoms. Remember, it’s important to still make and attend your regular health appointments. These precautions are in place to ensure these remain safe, hygienic and accessible.

19.01.2022 All the best to teams playing in the Adelaide Footy League grand finals this weekend! As proud partners, we’ll be on standby to provide injury support as needed. Our Weekend Sports Injury Clinic is also open this weekend to any players or teams who may need us. Dr Mark Ralfe will be consulting on Saturday and Dr Andrew MacDonald on Sunday, so head in to see a specialist sports doctor for any injury, concussion or other sports-related condition. 14.01.2022 If you injure yourself on the field or court this weekend, our Weekend Sports Injury Clinic has you covered. Today, Dr Kevyn Hernandez is in the clinic. He is experienced in treating all sports and musculoskeletal injuries, as well as sports related medical problems and concussions. Remember, when it comes to sporting injuries, particularly concussions, it's critical that you see a professional as soon as possible to assess your injuries and determine next steps. It will help you get back to the sport you love much sooner!

13.01.2022 We recently welcomed back physiotherapist Natalie Tyson, who has been away on parental leave. Natalie specialises in exercise rehabilitation and lower limb injuries, particularly knee osteoarthritis. In fact, she is one of our certified GLA:D Australia practitioners, helping patients with hip and knee osteoarthritis to get back on their feet faster, without the need for surgical treatment. Natalie is currently consulting on Tuesdays (Next Gen) and Thursdays (Calvary Adelaide Hospital) - call the location of your choice to make an appointment.

13.01.2022 COVID-19 UPDATE: Wednesday 18 November In line with the latest SA Health and South Australia Police guidelines, our physiotherapy services will be paused at all Wakefield Sports + Exercise Medicine clinic for the next six days. This means no appointments (including telehealth), and no physiotherapy staff on site at any location. All impacted patients will be contacted directly to reschedule their appointments. At this stage, we are planning to resume physiotherapy services next Wednesday 25 November, but further updates will be provided as we receive them. Please note, our sports medicine services will remain available during this time, so you may wish to keep your sports doctor appointments. Once again, further updates will be provided. 07.01.2022 Calvary wishes to advise patients and their loved ones that unfortunately a patient who attended the Dr Jones & Partners Medical Imaging clinic, located at the ...Calvary Adelaide Hospital site, has tested positive for COVID-19. The patient, who wore a mask and was screened for symptoms and temperature tested by our staff before entry, attended Jones & Partners for an appointment at 8.30am on Monday. Calvary has immediately put into action our COVID-19 response plan which involves working with SA Health to conduct thorough contact tracing to ensure any person identified a close contact is notified to get tested and isolate for 14 days. A deep clean of the Jones & Partners clinic was conducted overnight on Tuesday and has been determined safe to resume receiving patients. The safety of our patients, their loved ones and our staff is of paramount importance. Please contact the hospital if you have any questions or concerns about the safety measures we have in place. The Adelaide Concussion Clinic, located within Wakefield Sports and Exercise Medicine Clinic, offers specialised treatment of concussion and offers a subscription-based program to schools and clubs, ensuring this comprehensive service is available to young athletes. The ACC team is made up of highly experienced medical practitioners who are trained in concussion management and who have access to state-of-the-art computerised cognition testing, known as a cognigram. 06.01.2022 All smiles at our patient education session this week! We welcomed patients with knee pain questions to the Calvary Adelaide Hospital for an education session on knee replacements. The group heard from Wakefield Sports and Exercise Medicine Clinic physiotherapist Ian Scarborough and Wakefield Orthopaedic Clinic surgeon Dr Scott Brumby, who answered any questions they had about knee issues, and surgical vs non-surgical treatment options. Keep an eye out for more patient education sessions in the near future.
