20.01.2022 Fills my heart with pride to see our young ones using their talents.Following their dreams and showcasing our culture

04.01.2022 Here is a canoe scar. The yumu maalaa (spotted river gum tree) it was used because the bark is thick and holds its shape when it dries. It’s not far from the coolimon scar about 200 metres This canoe was cut out along time before the coolimon. Bark canoe’s were used over and over for many years like today with boats we uses them on the water then we pull them out and sit them on the bank.

02.01.2022 Always good to go back to Fingal Heads my grandma’s county and out to Mt warning lubly

02.01.2022 this Panoramic Photo is of a water hole we call the caves. You can see the canoe scar to the right of the photo. Then to the left of the photo, behind the tea trees is the coolimon scar. This is a deep hole and a lot of fish get caught here when the river stops running. The canoe was use in the water hole to push’s back the buni buni (duck weed)and gumbi (water weed). The water would have been pristine and Crystal clear and you would have been able to see to bottom. This is what... the buni buni and gumbi did, they filtered the water and put oxygen back into the water as well My people could then select the smaller to medium size fish and leave the big breeder alone. After spearing the fish they would pull the weed back and cover the water up again to slow down the evaporation of the waterhole.Three photos with their own story to tell but telling one of culture See more
