01.01.2022 Walcha Council Skatepark Paint Clinic was held on the 6th & 7th of November 2020. After consultation with Walcha’s youth and skatepark users, the clinic was designed to re-vamp the space, providing opportunities to connect with and offer support to our young people in the community. Along with Councillor Rachael Wellings and Walcha Library & Youth worker Cassie McKenna, community support workers from Armidale Family Support Service, Walcha Church Youth Group & Lifeline lent ...a hand with the painting. This enabled everyone to meet and chat with our young people and have some valuable conversations! Council would like to thank the young people who came along to help design and paint, and the community members who lent a hand over the two days, in particular the group from Walcha Central & their art teacher Michelle Bruton, Josh Wellings, Karen & Graham Barnes and Aunty Sue Green. This project was made possible through The Bushfire Community Recovery and Resilience Fund Phase 2, a joint Commonwealth-State fund through the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements administered by Resilience NSW.
