25.01.2022 City of Unley Mayor Michael Hewitson AM, visited Walford to present Year 7 student Cordelia, with a prize for her winning entry in the competition to design a logo to celebrate the sesquicentennial year of the City of Unley. The design incorporates leaves reflecting Unley’s many trees and parks. Walford has shared in the growth and history of the City of Unley since 1893.



22.01.2022 Walford staff joined in Mo-vember to raise funds and awareness of men’s health issues. Who do you think has the best moustache?

21.01.2022 A century old family Christmas Pudding recipe was shared with Walford old scholars who attended cooking classes last Saturday in the School’s Design & Technology Centre. Everyone finished the class with a pudding wrapped up in calico that is almost ready for Christmas Day! Thank you to old scholar, Gill Hopton, for teaching us Masterchef skills!

21.01.2022 Walford old scholars carefully prepare the ingredients for the Christmas pudding classes which will be conducted tomorrow at Walford’s new Design & Technology Centre. Lots of family and friends will be very excited to try the 100 year old family recipe at Christmas celebrations!



21.01.2022 Walford Year 9 students participated in a group mystery portrait competition with portraits inspired by Gustav Klimt and Del Kathryn Barton. Each student designed a piece of the puzzle and the group put the pieces together to reveal a famous face.

20.01.2022 The Walford Sailing girls participated in the last Teams Racing regatta for the year at Port River Sailing Club. The warm stormy weather brought some unpredictable wind which created great conditions for competition on the water. Well done to everyone on a challenging regatta!

17.01.2022 Walford Junior School students celebrated NAIDOC Week with activities including basket weaving, dance, arts and crafts and story telling with Uncle Tamaru and Aunties, followed by a picnic and a cultural walk along the River Torrens.

15.01.2022 Walford staff, students and families joined in the Walford Walk for Ovarian Cancer, organised by Year 9 student Freya, to raise funds for research, as part of her Community Project. What a great turn out of support!

15.01.2022 The Walford Early Learning Centre Sports Program began with an energetic warm up session of the Hokey-Pokey for students and parents! Students displayed the skills they have acquired by tackling the challenge of an obstacle course followed by the vortex throw and the balance beam. The program concluded with parachute play and a medal presentation. Maybe some olympians in the making!

14.01.2022 Walford old scholars from New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland joined in the discussion at the first Walford Virtual Book Club. Conducted via Zoom in the School Library, the members shared their opinions about the book Hamnet, by Maggie O’Farrell, all from the comfort of their own home. It was a fantastic experience! Thank to the Walford IT department for preparing such a sophisticated on-line book club meeting.

12.01.2022 On St Elizabeth Day, the Walford students remember the patron of Walford, St Elizabeth of Hungary, who cared for the poor over 800 years ago. She was remembered for her work at a special Assembly.



10.01.2022 The first team sailing regatta for the season was last Sunday at Port River Sailing Club. Walford teams were involved in lots of races over the day in a light breeze, with many wins all round. Congratulations girls!

09.01.2022 Congratulations to the Walford students who celebrated their last day of school today at the Prize Giving Ceremony with their parents, family members and teachers.

09.01.2022 Walford Parents and Caregivers are directed to the Parent Portal for an important announcement from the Principal in regard to the COVID media release by the Premier of SA.

07.01.2022 Walford students placed flags at Centennial Park to remember the courage and sacrifice of those who served their country during time of war. We remember our Walford old scholars who bravely served.

06.01.2022 Victims Support Service SA was supported by Walford Year 9 students as part of the Community Projects program. Emergency bags of essential items were prepared and donated to help people in need. Local businesses, including Dentistry on Unley and Little Happy Tooth, generously contributed.

02.01.2022 The Year 5 students visited the Middle School today for a Transition Treasure Hunt. The purpose of this engaging activity was to help the girls become more comfortable with the Middle and Senior School campus. They were able to identify key locations including the Year 6 classrooms, the Library, the Front Office, IT department, the Fig Tree Cafe and Ms London’s office.
