03.01.2022 The Two Queens Diamond Jubilee was held in Walhalla over the Queen’s birthday long weekend. It was a great success with many people both watching and participating in the parade. It began at the helipad and ended at the Rotunda which was bathed in sunlight. Here a speech was given by the mayor of Walhalla from 1897 when Queen Victoria’s Jubilee was celebrated. He was in surprisingly good health for someone from 1897. Three cheers were then given for each Queen and the nationa...l anthems played for Britain and Australia. It was all great fun. The raffle was drawn in the Mechanics Hall - now the Diamond Jubilee Tea Rooms for the weekend. Special thanks were given to Bev Holmes who organised the event. Her astonishing dedication to the town resulted in a wonderful weekend of events.

01.01.2022 The Light Festival was launched on Wednesday 1st August and new lighting was used at the Post Office. A good number of people came through, braving the cold night air.
