25.01.2022 Thank you for your nomination Jeremy Batt. We are raising awareness for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder(PTSD) , Depression and Anxiety. Day 1 nomination goes out to Marc Miles. You got this mate.... The rules are simple. Once nominated, you are to perform 25 pushups the following day for 25 days straight. Even if you have to drop to your knees to complete pushups. Your efforts will be appreciated. You must record yourself and post online. Each day, you must nominate a different person. Let’s reach out and raise awareness in our communities. We are all in this together. If you like to donate to Beyond Blue as part of my 90km Walk against Suicide please follow my page facebook com/walkagainstsuicide #walkagainstsuicide

25.01.2022 Look what my mate over in the UK has fund raised for the frontline service workers during this Covid crisis. Andy is an ironman and has walked a similar journey to myself and is leading by example of what is possible. With their triathlon club they rode their bikes for 24 hours!! Yes they are in lock down aswell so they all did this on their spinners and stationary bikes which is even harder. What a massive massive effort they all put in.... I can't speak highly enough of these guys and girls who put everything out there to do their bit to help others> #walkagainstsuicide See more

22.01.2022 It is with a heavy heart that i have to announce my Brissie to Goldie walk will be postponed untill after the coronavirus restrictions have been lifted. Yes this is the only responsible thing to do as i have been in self-iso with the family for last 2 weeks. Everyone please just stay at home and look after each other. Lets all just get through this together. We are so fortunate to live in the best country in the world, no other country has afforded their citizens the help... as our government has now done. no this is not a political post, rather one of gratitude. We as citizens of Australia should feel very blessed right now. Lets all work together to make this country awesome. take care everyone. Monty Van Dyk See more

21.01.2022 After carefull consideration of the current situation with Covid19, we have made the decision to proceed as per normal since it is essentially a solo walk. Given the current circumstance I feel it is more important than ever to make sure we get the message out to every bloke out there not to quit on what they have in their life right now. I know our community is going to face alot of pain and hurt due to the economic downturn and loss of jobs and small businesses closing, so let's stand strong, let's see this through and show that we can be bigger and better versions of ourselfs. I am starting from the Gabba in Brisbane at 4am sharp and heading down Logan Rd towards Garden City, if anyone is around at that time of the morn, and will finish on the beach at Cavill Ave, Surfers Paradise. onwards and upwards! cheers Monty

17.01.2022 Shout out to all the Dads out there as we start a new week. Take care guys and don't be afraid to talk. #walkagainstsuicide

17.01.2022 Understanding how everything is connected is the key to moving forward. Don't expect to be able to do this on your own, turn to the experts like Phil Cardow for help, it may just change your life! #walkagainstsuicide

14.01.2022 I have been advised not to walk on April 5th and to postpone until this Covid-19 thing has passed. This is a solo walk with a few friends joining me along the way so i never considered this to be an 'at risk' event. thoughts? #walkagainstsuicide

14.01.2022 Look where we are. This is him looking good after receiving fluid in the ambulance. Not going home tonight unfortunately- After 2 faints/passing out in the garage on our return home. Lack of fluid and low blood pressure, and funny heart stuff. thanks Phil Cardow for dropping everything and coming over when I was panicking .

13.01.2022 Hey if you are feeling unwell, not 100% or getting depressed with our home self isolation, then please use this link to reach out to get a helping hand. A great initive rolled out due to the coronavirus by the gov. You don't have to suffer in silence. https://headtohealth.gov.au/covid-19-support/covid-19

10.01.2022 I need to finalise the list of who is with me on the day, either as a co-walker/part-walker or with the support team. I ask if you can direct message me, with what you like to do. I have had so many people reach out so now its time to put everything in order so the day runs smoothly for everyone. Hope to hear from you, and thanks again for all your support, cheers Monty #walkagainstsuicide

09.01.2022 Food for thought... #walkagainstsuicide

07.01.2022 FYI Monty doesn’t have his phone , I left it at home , just in case people think he’s rude for not responding to messages and posts or emails . TIA

06.01.2022 Reach out by talking to your mate. It's not that hard and you will be surprised at their response. #walkagainstsuicde
