18.01.2022 Meet our team: Charlotte, veterinary nurse. Charlotte graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in London in 2010 with a BSc(Hons) in Veterinary Nursing. She moved from London, UK to Hervey Bay in 2017 and settled in to the FCVS team shortly after. She recently completed a certificate in advanced feline behaviour through the ISFM and is our resident feline enthusiast. Charlotte brought 3 cats over from London and has since added more cats and 2 dogs to her family. Charlotte enjoys veterinary nursing and has a particular passion for surgical nursing, emergency nursing and practicing feline friendly nursing. In her free time Charlotte enjoys spending time with friends, board game evenings, watching movies, gardening and home renos.

13.01.2022 Meet out team: Dr Kara Smith Kara graduated from James Cook University in Townsville in 2016 with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science. She moved from her hometown on the Atherton Tablelands FNQ to join the FCVS team. Kara enjoys all aspects of general practice and has a keen interest in surgical and medical cases. Kara and her partner live locally with their border collie, golden retriever and cat. In her spare time, you will find Kara walking her dogs on the beach, camping, travelling, spending time with her friends and playing board games.



12.01.2022 Meet our team: Nina, veterinary nurse. Nina joined the FCVS team in early 2020. Prior to this she had spent many years travelling QLD, working as a vet nurse in rural indigenous communities right through to the University of Queensland, Gatton. Nina then ventured throughout the NT and QLD to pursue her love for the land, horses and cattle and worked on various stations and a large feedlots. Nina enjoys cattle health, equine and small animal nursing. She particularly enjoys dentistry and nursing surgical and medical patients. In her free time, she enjoys competing her two horses, taking her two dogs on adventures, photography and gardening.

07.01.2022 Meet out Team: Dr. Sarah Fitzgerald Sarah graduated from the University of Queensland in 2012 with a BVSc (Hons). Upon graduation she completed a 12 month rotating internship at Veterinary Specialist Services, before returning to her home town and joining the FCVS family. Sarah lives with her husband, two young daughters and Toy Poodle, Mac. Sarah has a special interest in internal medicine and emergency medicine. She has completed a Graduate Certificate in Emergency Medicine and Critical Care from the University of Melbourne. In her free time Sarah enjoys spending time with her family, sewing and travelling.

06.01.2022 Meet our team: Dr Kellie Fowler Kellie graduated UQ in 2010, she moved to Maryborough and joined the practice the following year. Kellie has a special interest in surgery and sat her Australian New Zealand Memberships in Small Animal Surgery in 2019. She lives with her husband Ross, daughter Ella and 3 Border Collies Tilly, Toby and Coil. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family, reading and gardening
