25.01.2022 HAPPY OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY WEEK EVERYONE! We wanted to use this opportunity to share a TEDxPortsmouth talk by Angela Hanscom, a paediatric occupational therapist. She talks about the importance of allowing children to move and play to support their development and learning. ... Weve all seen children who look like they have ants in their pants at school, while doing homework or even eating dinner. This may be due to many reasons but increasing childrens opportunity to play, run, climb and explore in large spaces allows children to channel their energy and become more productive. In Early Start Denver Model therapy sessions, we try and alternate between a table top activity and a floor-based activity to modulate the childs arousal (level of alertness) and give children the opportunity to learn at their best. If you have any other questions, please contact our occupational therapist.

04.01.2022 The wait is over! Mark your calendars. 50% off on ProloQuo2Go, Pictello and few other Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) Apps. AAC are communication tools and techniques to supplement communication for people who have difficulty with speech. AAC includes pointing, gestures, communication books and boards as well as communication apps and devices. These apps are symbol or text based apps to help children express themselves and build language skills.... Evidence tells us that AAC does not keep a child from talking. In fact, it helps promotes natural development of speech and language.
