25.01.2022 NO WALKING FOOTBALL at COORPAROO on SATURDAY 22 AUGUST 2020 Given the large number of WFB Inc members attending the walking football mini tournament at Peninsula Power FC this Saturday it has been decided to cancel the social walking football session at Coorparoo this weekend. Apologies for any inconvenience. That said, all members including those playing at Peninsula Power this Saturday are more than welcome to attend our Sunday walking football session at Brisbane City... Indoor Sports at 117 Mina Parade, Newmarket from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. I look forward to seeing you there.

24.01.2022 WALKING FOOTBALL at NEWMARKET SUNDAY 23 AUGUST 2020 Brisbane City Indoor Sports has advised WFB Inc that the COVIDsafe Plan at their venues exempts them from current COVID-19 restrictions. Accordingly, our walking football session at 117 Mina Pde., Newmarket will proceed as usual from 1-3pm on Sunday 23 August. We encourage the attendance of our members who didnt get to play at Coorperoo on Saturday, as well as anyone who played in the Peninsula Power Walking Football Mini Carnival and feels like backing it up with another session at Newmarket - especially those of our members who refereed at the Mini Carnival.

21.01.2022 NO WALKING FOOTBALL AT CLUB OXLEY ON WEDNESDAY 26 AUGUST Given the recent cases of community transmitted COVID-19 infections in and around the Oxley area, WFB Inc has decided it will not hold the walking football session at Club Oxley on Wednesday 26 August. Despite current community transmission rates being relatively low, WFB Inc has made this decision out of an abundance of caution and with the best interest of its members in mind.... We thank you for your understanding and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. An update regarding the following Wednesdays session will be circulated a.s.a.p.

20.01.2022 SUNDAY 29 NOVEMBER LAST CALL FOR WALKING FOOTBALL AT NEWMARKET All WFB Inc members are invited to Brisbane City Indoor Sports (BCIS) at Newmarket this Sunday to bid a fond farewell to a venue which has played an important role in helping establish walking football in Greater Brisbane. For those of you interested in playing one last time at this venue; kick-off will be at 1:00pm. For those of you interested in socialising one last time at this venue; WFB Inc will be shouti...ng drinks at the bar from 2:45pm. Last call will be at 3:20pm, and then, at 3:30pm, BCIS Newmarket will close its doors to all indoor sports forever. SUNDAY 29 NOVEMBER from 1:00-3:30pm at 117 MINA PARADE, NEWMARKET Q 4051. Come along one last time bring your playing gear, bring your stories, bring your thirst, and let’s give BCIS Newmarket a proper send-off.

18.01.2022 WALKING FOOTBALL RESUMES AT CLUB OXLEY ON WEDNESDAY 02 SEPTEMBER In view of the State Governments ostensibly well managed containment of recent COVID-19 cases in and around the Oxley area greatly assisted by exceptional community cooperation WFB Inc has decided to resume its walking football session at Club Oxley as of Wednesday 02 September. We also take this opportunity to remind all members of the requirement for adherence to social distancing protocols when not on th...e field of play an obligation applicable at all venues. We look forward to seeing you all again tomorrow night. However, should you still feel uncomfortable about participating then please follow your conscience. Your personal decision in this matter is understood and will be respected.

14.01.2022 FQ WALKING FOOTBALL SOCIAL CARNIVAL - SATURDAY 03 OCTOBER WFB Inc has been advised by FQs Walking Football Development Officer, Alan Templeton, that individual player registrations will now be accepted for the FQ Walking Football Social Carnival at QUT Stadium on Saturday 03 October 2020. In other words, if you are not currently part of a team but youre still interested in playing, you can now register as an individual player and then be assigned to a team on the day. Team...s and individual players must register and pay the playing fee BEFORE the event. FQ will not accept cash payments at the venue. Teams/players can register here: https://footballqueensland.com.au/walking-foot/tournaments/ If you have any difficulties in registering, please contact Alan, whose mobile phone number and email address are also in the above link. Furthermore, Alan will be attending the WFB Inc walking football session at Club Oxley next week to discuss refereeing needs for the carnival with Stephen Thompson, our WFB Inc Referees Representative. While there, Alan will be available to answer any questions about the event and to assist anyone having trouble with the registration process. Hes also happy to do the same at Coorparoo, if needed.

05.01.2022 22 NOVEMBER 2020 THE PENULTIMATE SUNDAY WALKING FOOTBALL SESSION AT NEWMARKET As announced in an earlier post (October 28), Brisbane City Indoor Sports (BCIS) at Newmarket the home of our Sunday walking football session for the past two years will be closing its doors forever on Monday 14 December. At that time, it was thought our last session at this venue would be on Sunday 13 December, however, we’ve subsequently been advised that all the goal posts will be removed ...on Monday 30 November. Accordingly, our last walking football session at BCIS Newmarket will now be held on Sunday 29 November. A further announcement about this will be made closer to the date. In the interim, WFB Inc invites those of our members who have not played at BCIS Newmarket, and those who have, to come and give it one more go, while you still can. This Sunday (22 November 2020) is your penultimate chance to do so.
