22.01.2022 Disappearing Tarn is a true natural wonder. This mystical body of water is part of Tasmanian bushwalking folklore, it's hard to predict and never sticks around for long. Oh and I'm sure it cures all forms of ailments, not least ones spirit. It appears after heavy rain when the ground water that flows through the fractured dolerite it's too much for the underlying sandstone, thus backfilling the tarn. 01.01.2022 What a great article on kunanyi's lost huts. Most are unfortunately ruins now but their stories live on thanks to people like Maria. We visit hut ruins on just about all of our walks, it's amazing how easy they are to miss!
