19.01.2022 A CTP FUNDING SUCCESS! For some time now, a licensed CTP insurer had been attempting to introduce capped fees for treatment and rehabilitation costs for those injured in motor vehicle accidents. This would directly and negatively impact claimants and providers. Fortunately, Australian Lawyers Association advocated on behalf of Queensland lawyers and CTP claimants to ensure that the Motor Accident Insurance Commission (MAIC) would not accept this.... As a result of this advocacy, MAIC have advised that the licensed CTP insurer is no longer continuing with its approach to cap fees for medical and rehabilitation funding for claimants. This is a very welcomed decision by Queensland lawyers and, we would expect, claimants too.
