25.01.2022 Families, the DoE has provided further advice this morning that students and staff with flu like symptoms will now need to provide a copy of a negative COVID-19 test result before being permitted to return to school. The DoE has stated that parents are not to send children to school if they are unwell, even if they have the mildest flu-like symptoms. Schools must make arrangements for students who present as unwell or have flu like symptoms to be sent home. If a family member is unwell and has been tested for COVID-19, then your child must stay at home in isolation (away from school) until a negative COVID-19 test result is provided. Warmest regards, stay safe. Trev Xxx

23.01.2022 Hello Wallacia P.S Families, As Fathers Day approaches, this year the P&C would like to offer an alternative to our families to the Fathers Day stall to accommodate for the current climate and restrictions we need to adhere to, to keep our local community safe. The P&C are offering students of Wallacia Public School the choice of ordering a personalised glass or a mug. As one of our parents has donated their time in doing this, we have needed to keep the options limited (as... we are sure you can appreciate the time in which producing a product such as this could take) however, if an option provided has not met the needs of the student there will be an option for an extra special request. If this is the case, please pop your request down on the below note along with a phone number and we will try our best to accommodate their needs. The price of either a glass or mug personalised is $5 Make sure you complete the form with all your child's desired options and return with the correct money to the P&C orange box no later than Friday 21 August, 9am. 22.01.2022 21st Century Learning in 4/5/6V The 4Cs - Critical and Creative Thinking, Cooperation and Collaboration! We are getting ready to present our combined research to the class. We each researched one of the early explorers Vasco da Gama, Christopher Columbus or Ferdinand Magellan individually. We used technology to research our guiding questions and took notes of our findings. This requires us to use critical and creative thinking skills. We then each wrote a speech on our explo...rer which we presented to our class. We have now collaborated in cooperative groups to create posters about each of these explorers. Each group will present their collaborative research to the class. By collaborating and layering our learning we have gained deep understanding of historical inquiry skills and have presented our findings in a range of communication forms.

11.01.2022 Families and Friends, How inappropriate to call this planet Earth when it is quite clearly Ocean (from one of my favourite authors, Arthur C Clarke). You may notice that your child comes home with questions and insights about our oceans next week. This is because we are embracing the National Science Week theme: Deep Blue: innovations for the future of our oceans. National Science Week is Australias annual celebration of science and technology. It gives us the opportunity to increase our understanding and engagement with ocean science and provides a further lens to interpret and enjoy the questions, beauty and meaning of life by.
