23.01.2022 12 months ago today, this was the view from our online camera facing towards the south east, fire hit GENOA and the surrounding areas :0)

21.01.2022 There are no restrictions on your tent type at our place, have a look at this as an example, from Christmas 2019 :0)

20.01.2022 It is obvious by the number of phone calls we are receiving panic has set in to find accommodation. Unfortunately we are full until 4th January 2021 this includes Camping, Caravanning and Cabins. 19.01.2022 Cheer up everyone! What a great time to look forward to and it will happen, we will all beat this. The retreat is open, we are temperature testing all arrivals (thousands of them - ha!) and we are making sure only bona fide travellers are staying with us (Place is packed - not!) Like all of our customers and friends we are a resilient lot, we will win, we will be here, the fish will be bigger, the camp fire wood will be dryer and the jokes will be funnier. 16.01.2022 UPDATE - It seems like we will be permitted to re-open from 11.59pm tomorrow night (Wednesday 16th September 2020) More information will be available in the next 12 hours ...FINGERS CROSSED

13.01.2022 Very cold down south, fried eggs delivered fresh :0)

08.01.2022 Ok so we will re-open the park from this coming Thursday morning 17th September 2020. A reminder, we are in a very remote area of Victoria, we have restricted power available, hot showers, toilets and nice fresh drinking water (heaven sent) We are on the banks of the Wallagaraugh River which is fantastic for kayaking, canoeing and boating. Fishing is just as good from the banks of the river or from your own boat, we catch mostly bream and flathead. The river is great for swim...ming, all ages and the kids love it. You can bring your dog to our park, behaviour rules apply of course, free-range under supervision is ok otherwise on the lead. We have survived the fires, and we have survived the lockdown, time to have some fun. The 8kms dirt road in from the highway is an all-weather road, there is no mobile or television reception. Supplies including petrol from Orbost, Cann River, Mallacoota and Eden. Campfires are a must and the serenity, night sky and the stories are infectious to say the least. 08.01.2022 Thursday 17th September 2020 The Park Is Open -Covid-19 safe practices must be observed, includes wearing a mask. Last petrol Cann River and Mallacoota. No access to EDEN for shopping etc Last grocery/food supplies Orbost, very limited and expensive Cann River and Mallacoota. Joe will be doing trips into EDEN and will be available to get essentials. We carry ice and bait. NO FUEL - All customers and visitors, please prepare to take all of your rubbish back out of the park as we have no disposal facilities. Power runs between 5.30pm and 10.30 pm daily. No TV or telephone reception. We have kayak hire. Camp fires ok, dog friendly. The Genoa Hotel is not open.

02.01.2022 The staff at the GENOA checkpoint have not been updated with the latest information. Our customers can leave the Wallagaraugh River Retreat with a copy of their booking in sheet and Victorian drivers licence, this will give them access without needing to quarantine. We are a Victorian business operating in Victoria and we are within our rights to trade with Victorians. The authorities (in their wisdom) decided to set up the Covid checkpoint at GENOA and of course our business is in between that point and the NSW border, Sheeeeeesh! The fires were easier! Anyone living or travelling through NSW cannot come into then park. Cheers THE INFORMATION HAS NOW GOT THROUGH TO THE CHECKPOINT STAFF...............................

02.01.2022 Hello everyone, still a lot of uncertainty about Christmas, I have left everyone's bookings from last year in the system for this year, sought of thought we could just pretend and turn back the clock, no fires and no viruses. We are open for business and we are practising Covid - 19 normal Joe is doing a fantastic job :0) Stay safe let's all be optimistic - David, Lynette, Charli, Joe and Samson :0)
