16.01.2022 Small correction on an earlier post, my humble and sincere apologies to the Lynch family, as and I should have remembered that young Ben Lynch may well hold the honour of being our first W into the NPL. This omission was pointed out by Kit’s mum and confirmed by Ben’s family. Ben was one of Coach Mels kids before being trained by Coach Johan. 14.01.2022 That's a wrap! Thanks to everyone for attending today's sessions to cap off the weirdest season ever! We tried to make sure every kid playing in a W team got their medals and other important people, like coaches and managers, were recognised for their contributions, and we had to do it in a COVID safe way, so thanks everyone for your understanding and participation in the separate sessions today. Thanks indeed to Tanya, our Tireless Trophy Teammate, for doing her usual awesom...e job making sure all the gongs were ready and gifts were gotten... The precious cargo was well protected...

14.01.2022 Don’t accuse me of being slow but. This season we welcomed a group of players from our western boundary. Under the tutorage of Coach Mark they had a ripper of a season. One of the standouts from the Gloucester Mob, in fact standout in general, was a cracking young lady Jess Howard, it was very obvious that she loves the game and I heard today that she trialed for and made the FMNC U15 WPL team. Unfortunately we (W’s) in all honesty can’t claim her 100% ours, though I’ll defer... to Prez P on that ruling. All that aside, congratulations Jess on being selected for the WPL, what a big year your about to enjoy and I’ll look forward to monitoring your progress. FP

11.01.2022 This, ladies and gents, girls and boys, is what community football is all about. A great, competitive game on the field and a spontaneous get together of the two teams for the photo. It was a pleasure to watch the game and the post game camaraderie among players and supporters. A fitting end to a weird season. Here's the match report from the Senior Ladies team manager:... Match Report Senior Ladies Wallamba (1) v Hallidays Point (0) 25/9/2020 Round 14 - Finals Our final match for 2020 was debatably our most enjoyable of the season. Dry air filled the night along with the smell of chicken and gravy rolls from the canteen, and the sound from many Wallamba and Hallidays Supporters. The game kicked off with both sides eager to flaunt their progress gained throughout the season, showcasing new found skills and confidence. Hallidays held majority possession, but a small breakaway helped the Ws gain further up the field. Around twenty minutes a Hallidays goal kick fell to Lauren Brady, who scored her first goal of the season with a one touch strike back towards the goal giving the Ws the lead. Hallidays retaliated with strength and speed, however the Ws Backline held strong. Half time came, as did the speech in the sheds, inspiring the ladies to play the last half with everything they have; this is their final half. Hallidays must had a similarly inspiring speech, and maybe a chat with Mother Nature, as the second half began, the cold and the wind appeared seemingly from nowhere bringing Hallidays long goal kicks and bringing everyone difficulty balancing. Hallidays dominated possession and attempts in the second half, but the half ended goalless. A fantastic game to finish a fantastic season. A very big thank you to Hallidays Point Ladies Team and coach Matt for the competitive but sportsman-like behaviour all season through, showing their own W spirit in their very first season.
