These live webinars explore the latest research and they are a great way to learn how you can help your child develop the skills to be safer online. ... All sessions are delivered by eSafety's expert education and training team. The first webinar will help parents and carers to understand online sexual harassment and image-based abuse, (non-consensual sharing of intimate images). It is designed for parents and carers of young people aged 13-18. It will cover: the difference between online sexual harassment and image-based abuse how to report online sexual harassment to social media companies how to report image-based abuse to eSafety and when to report to police where to get support if you feel upset or worried about something that has happened online. You can choose to attend the webinar with your teen or share resources with them afterwards from the webinar package. 09.01.2022 Do You Know Someone Who Would Benefit? The 2022 Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH) Student Scholarship Program applications close Midnight Friday 25 June. The DFFH, formally Department of Health and Human Services, Student Scholarship Program is designed to assist young people living in public or community housing, or those at risk of homelessness (e.g., unstable or unsuitable living arrangements, i.e., couch surfing, living with friends, severe overcrowding,... high levels of family friction, financial disadvantage, severe behavioural issues within the household), to get the support they need to stay in education and achieve their full potential. Administered by Kids Under Cover, the DFFH Student Scholarship Program is for young people studying year 11 and 12 or the TAFE equivalent in 2022. These scholarships are to the value of $1,100 (GST free) and can be used to cover any educational items including, but not limited to, textbooks, computers or laptops, IT equipment, public transport, uniform and more. Could we please ask that you check your cupboards for any jackets that you or your family members are no longer wearing and bring them into student services?
