19.01.2022 UPDATE: TODAYS CRUISE VISIT CANCELLED DUE TO EXTREME WEATHER AND TIDES: The Copper Coast Council advises with regret that we have been notified by Cruise & Maritime Voyages Australia that their Cruise Ship, the Vasco Da Gama due to arrive in Wallaroo on the 18th December (tomorrow) has had its itinerary changed as a result of the extreme weather conditions and the tide for departure in Wallaroo. This has unfortunately resulted in the Wallaroo visit being cancelled. The ship w...ill now visit Penneshaw after Adelaide and then to Port Lincoln where she will stay overnight. We apologise for any inconvenience that this has caused our community and look forward to its final visit for this season on the 3rd of January, 2020. Please help us in spreading the message to anyone who may be affected or who was planning on coming along. 15.01.2022 Re-post from Copper Coast Council CRUISES WILL BERTH AT WALLAROO JETTY: Council wants to confirm that the Vasco Da Gama WILL be berthing at the Wallaroo Jetty on the Northern side, for each of its 3 visits in this cruise ship season. We are aware that some ports tender passengers to shore, but our deep sea port allows the ship to berth at the Jetty! ... Flinders Ports are currently undertaking major works on the Jetty Structure to ensure the Jetty is safe for disembarking passengers LAST INDUCTION SESSION: TONIGHT, 6pm at the Kadina Library (Copper Coast Libraries) is the last scheduled induction session for the cruise ships arriving in December/January. 15.01.2022 FULL STEAM AHEAD: Cruise and Maritime Voyages (CMV) have confirmed that the Vasco Da Gama will go ahead, as scheduled, for its first ever arrival in Wallaroo tomorrow! A controlled precautionary blackout occured early this morning, but post-incident checks were completed with no causes for concern identified. We are very excited for our regions first ever cruise arrival! There will be more updates throughout the day on what passengers and locals can expect as part of the days... festivities. More to come! The NYP Rotary Cruise Ship Markets will be held in John Terrace from 8 am to 12 midday. Moonta Road Tram Tour These are two of the tours available to book and be enjoyed on the cruise ship visit days of Saturday 7th and Wednesday 18th December and Friday 3rd January. Another addition to what is on offer for everyone to enjoy during the cruise ship visits on Friday 3rd January. 01.01.2022 Day Pass for Hop On - Hop Off Shuttle Bus. - Friday 3rd January - Only $10 per person on air conditioned buses travelling between the three major towns of Wallaroo, Moonta and Kadina picking up and dropping off at the Town Halls. First shuttle will depart Wallaroo at 10 am then regularly throughout the day. Last pick ups from Moonta and Kadina are both 6 pm. A great way to get a taste of all that Yorke Peninsulas Copper Coast has to offer. Tickets can be bought from the Pop Up Visitor Information Centre (Old Railway Station) in John Terrace Wallaroo tomorrow (Friday)
