25.01.2022 Devastating news Our thoughts are with all the families, the NSW Rural Fire Service and Coulson Aviation after the loss of 3 incredible crew members in the NS...W Snowy Mountains. The Large Airtankers have recently been doing a power of work protecting South West Communities at the Budj Bim Fire. This fire season has, and continues to be so incredibly challenging and difficult, today reminds us that there is still a long way to go. Rest easy friends and thank you for your service See more

24.01.2022 As an organisation, it's important for us to ensure all members feel included. Today is International Day of Sign Language, an opportunity to support and protec...t the identity and diversity of all deaf people and other sign language users. Peter Busch is one of many deaf members across CFA, and has been a firefighter for over 45 years. Peter is a member of Glenaladale Fire Brigade, who have adapted to help Peter communicate on the fireground and beyond, using certain sign language and ensuring Peter is able to lipread at all times. Happy International Day of Sign Language!

21.01.2022 A timely reminder to protect our emergency services family.

18.01.2022 After losing a number of mates to suicide and dealing with mental illness within his family, Leigh wants to do all he can to break down the stigma around men’s ...health and wellbeing. Leigh has been a CFA volunteer for over 20 years, and this year is participating in his third Movember, growing a mo’ to help encourage conversation around mental illness. Check in on your mates, because many find it hard to start a conversation. 14.01.2022 Grassfires can start anywhere and spread quickly. If a grassfire starts, walk at least two streets back from the fire. If you live two or three streets away fr...om grassland and a grassfire starts, stay where you are. Never drive if you can see smoke or fire. Thick smoke will make it hard to see and traffic jams and accidents are likely. Keep roads clear for emergency services. www.cfa.vic.gov.au/plan-pr/grassfires-near-cities-and-towns

11.01.2022 A little like waking sleeping giants from their slumber, "Jerry", "Marty", "Delilah" and "Elsie", the Erickson S-64 Air Crane helicopters, have now arrived int...o #Australia after their long voyage from #Greece aboard the BBC Chartering ship "BBC Leda". They join "Georgia Peach" and "Gypsy Lady" who are already in country. The arrivals will be established on the port at Geelong, Victoria prior to making their way to their operating bases in time for their contract starts during December in #Victoria, #SouthAustralia and #NewSouthWales. A MAMMOTH amount of work and planning has gone into getting the aircraft here this COVID impacted year, but the teams at Kestrel and Erickson Incorporated are getting the job done. Now to the job of fighting fires from the air and keeping #Australian communities safe! A huge thanks to Dave Soda from Aviation Spotters Online for the images!
