25.01.2022 Due to recent guidelines put in place by the Office of Sport and Little Athletics NSW last week, we are unfortunately unable to go ahead with the age group trophy presentation and information sessions previously communicated to occur on the 31/08 and 07/09. (Reference https://lansw.com.au//s/3/2020/08/Back-on-Track-18-AUG.pdf, see Meeting & Gatherings) We anticipate that club registrations will be able to open shortly, whilst we await approval of our COVID Safety Plan. First club night is currently planned for September 14th.

18.01.2022 A few things to note for tonight's competition: bring your own water; it's going to be hot and keeping hydrated is important. Canteen facilities are not available this season. Bottled water only is available for gold coin donation if you have completed a 2 week trial, full registration is required to participate. All athletes must be registered before competing... athletes are required to wear full uniform, including registration patches - sewn or pinned onto shirt and shorts . Registration patches can be picked up from the clubhouse if you haven't received yours yet.

17.01.2022 Next Sunday 6/12/2020, there will be a special hurdles training session at the park. It will start at 11am. Once again Tiahna Skelton will be in attendance to offer special instructions. This session is open to all Wallsend athletes u8 and older. Due to current restrictions we are limiting this to 20 athletes. If you are wanting to attend, please let us know via private message (please don’t comment) by 3pm Saturday 5/12/2020. ... There will be no cost.

Also Note there is only community Athlete or dual, concession or open options. 13.01.2022 Little Athletics - Junior State Qualifying Meet (U9-U12) Region 2 Where: Maitland Regional Athletics Centre When: Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th February 2020... Participants can enter up to 4 events. The qualifying standards shown below must be achieved at your centre, another centre or day/meet hosting in a Zone and Region in NSW in the 2020/2021 season to enable entry. To assist with qualifying times, club night results will be posted to the website shortly. 10.01.2022 Little Athletics NSW have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 State Relay Championships, scheduled to be held in November. This decision has not been... made lightly, but it is in line with the current NSW Government and NSW Department of Health restrictions regarding COVID-19. Little Athletics NSW believes that centres and members will appreciate the early notice of this cancellation. Little Athletics NSW will continue to provide updates about the impacts of COVID-19 and the 2020/21 season. 10.01.2022 2020/2021 Season Update: Our committee is busy preparing and planning for the new season of Athletics to ensure we are COVID safe and compliant. At this stage, we are planning to start competition Monday 14th September with registrations will opening shortly.... More detailed information will be provided in the next few days of the changes that will be put in place to the program and running of events. These changes are to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all our athletes, parents and volunteers on club night. To help with planning - we'd really appreciate if you could let us know if you or your children are planning to return to compete this season. Please use the poll below to indicate Yes or No. Presentation Trophies and Certificates Whilst it was unfortunate we couldn't celebrate last season with our annual Presentation Night, rest assured we haven't forgotten about recognising the efforts of our athletes. On Monday 31st August or 7th September, you will be able to come and collect trophies and certificates. As each age group will be allocated a time for collection, please wait for further information to be provided.

06.01.2022 NSW All Schools Championships Postponed In line with the current COVID-19 directives from the NSW Health Department, and to ensure the health and safety of all our athletes, spectators, and workforce, the 2020 NSW All Schools Championships have been postponed, with a future date to be determine.

05.01.2022 Little Athletics NSW would like to provide our Centres and Members with an update in relation to Championship (Zone/Region/State) events for the 2020/2021 seaso...n. The Covid-19 Pandemic will have an impact on how we deliver our championship events this season. The board is committed to delivering quality events that keep our members safe. The staff and championships committee have been considering a number of options to achieve this. Whilst we currently do not have the final details we would like to share some of the details with you all: The traditional Zone and Region Championships will not take place this season. A number of State Qualifying meets will be held in the early part of 2021, most likely February. A State Championship Event will be held in March. The full details of the above will be announced in the coming weeks.

02.01.2022 Thanks to all those that have used our poll to indicate whether you or your children are planning to register for the 2020/2021 season. If you haven't done so already, it would be greatly appreciated if you could use the poll below to let us know your intentions. This will help us to plan for the season, as an indication of total numbers will help us construct COVID safe guidelines.

02.01.2022 We are thrilled to announce that Little Athletics registrations for our club are now open! Please go to lansw.com.au to complete your registration. A lot has changed since we last got to compete. The committee has been busy working behind the scenes to prepare for 2020/21 season whilst complying with COVID rules and we look forward to welcoming you back. We were hoping to commence on 14/09/2020 but this is currently being negotiated with council as winter park users are tr...ying to get the end of their extended winter season in. Our new SEASON START DATE will be Monday 12/10/2020. We will be running a revised program this season and this will be finalised shortly but noticible changes will be no hurdles or high jumps due to the excessive handling of equipment. We are also asking that parents step up to help at age groups. You will be supported by committee members/officials. A few of the changes that have been put in place include: - 'Get in, Compete/Train, Get out'. Please no socialising or hanging around before or after competition. - Athletes advised to bring their own water bottles, towels and other personal equipment to avoid sharing. - Download the COVID Safe app. - If the athlete or parent are unwell please do not attend. If you email us at info@wallsendathleticsclub to let us know you receive average points at end of season. This is important to protect the health of our athletics community. - If you are awaiting COVID results or have been told to self isolate we look forward to seeing you when you are well. - To those that have returned from Victoria (or other declared hotspot) we hope you have had a great time and can tell us all about it once you have quarantined for 14 days and return to athletics - You will be required to sign in and out at the park and a QR code will be available to make easier to correlate the information (more details closer to start date).
