19.01.2022 Some good advice from the NSW Police Force. The convenience of a car is something most of us take for granted. Having your vehicle or contents stolen can impact... heavily on family, work and finances. Thieves have been targeting older model 4WDs of late PROTECT YOUR CAR FROM BEING STOLEN: NEVER leave your keys in the ignition when not in your car, even in your driveway at home ALWAYS keep your car’s doors and windows locked, including when driving NEVER leave your keys in plain view at home or in public places such as restaurants CONSIDER upgrading your car’s security with a quality alarm or electronic immobiliser CONSIDER parking off the street in a driveway or garage PROTECT THE PROPERTY IN YOUR CAR ALWAYS keep your doors and windows locked when out of your car NEVER leave valuables such as mobile phones, handbags, GPS or spare change in plain view even when parked at home ALWAYS try to park in a well-lit or populated area TRADIES always lock your toolboxes and try to avoid parking on the street at night PROTECT YOURSELF WHEN SELLING YOUR CAR NEVER advertise your home address when selling your car ALWAYS view and record any potential buyers identification NEVER let someone take your car for a test drive without supervision. 19.01.2022 Shame on Jetstar Australia. Shame!! Late last week they announced the closure of the maintenance hangar at Williamtown that employs 112 staff, including aircraf...t engineers, 38 apprentices and support staff. They also announced they would close their bases for 70 pilots and cabin crew in Newcastle. All up 220 jobs lost. I have spoken to local residents in the electorate who have been impacted by these job losses. With the closure of the base comes less opportunity for flexible business and leisure travel. Early morning first flights and return evening flights will no longer operate meaning same day business travel direct from Newcastle to Brisbane and Melbourne will be no longer possible. This will also limit the growth of the expanding Tourism industry of the region. This also has an effect on future jobs in our community. The Jetstar Maintenance base allows vital apprenticeship opportunities each year for our local youth setting them up with skills and careers for life. Both State and Federal Governments should drag both Jetstar and Qantas Management to the table and devise a plan to keep Jobs in our region. I know that our local MP's Kate Washington MP, Meryl Swanson MP and Pat Conroy MP have been working on this for the last few days. 08.01.2022 Maybe it’s a few months of isolation? Maybe it’s just been a bad couple of weeks. We have seen abuse being dished out to shop workers and Police. This last wee...k, it has been my office that has borne the brunt of abuse from locals. The level of abuse and nastiness being directed at my staff over the last week or so is unacceptable. During the whole COVID-19 pandemic, my office has remained open. My staff have gone above and beyond to make sure the community has had a placed to get up to date information. They have provided me with all the COVID-19 so I could keep you up to date on social media, researching questions for me non-stop. They have purchased groceries for local residents, they have driven local residents to medical appointments. All without asking for anything in return. They don’t need praise, they are told daily by me what a great job they are doing. But the abuse needs to stop and won’t be tolerated. If you abuse my staff, then you will be removed from my office and Police will be notified. You will not be welcome back. When you call or visit my office, you will get the assistance you need, but your attitude and rubbish behaviour won’t be accepted anymore. The carry on from a number of individuals on Friday was disgusting. They won’t be back. Show some respect.

06.01.2022 EDIT**** We have been able to ascertain that this probably happened on Thursday 25th June between 6-7pm. Looking for the owner of a white all wheel drive (possibly a Prado) Any information is greatfully accepted. These planters cannot be replicated and it’s such a waste of all the community effort to mosaic them

01.01.2022 Locals are fed up with the pathetic behaviour from local drivers. These 2 fools were captured on camera late yesterday afternoon. So if you know these clowns, R...ego WKQ-836, let them know that Newcastle City Police District will be catching up with them soon for a chat and some fines. Photos like these are extremely useful in making sure drivers and motorbikes doing illegal things are dealt with by Police. Keep sending them through.
