14.01.2022 Recently finished some 'ulu' style herb knives for a customer. Made from spring leaf steel, hardened and tempered they are very tactile in the hand and hold a good edge.

13.01.2022 Recently had a job to replicate a small scroll for a customer. I made up a small jig to do the job, it works great. Jigs are a great way to make multiple copy's of an item.

11.01.2022 I have been making a ornate rose that will custom fit to the waist of a customer. The lady is making a dress after the style of of a dress worn by Margaery Tyrell from Game of thrones'. The rose will be attached to the dress by three ribbons. At approx 200 grams it is very light in weight.

11.01.2022 I had a bit of fun today trying to see how small I could make a horsehead. The brooch is 6cm in diameter. Not a cost effective brooch as it took about four hours to make, most of the time was spent in drawing down metal strands to make the mane. I do like aspects of it and nothing is wasted in blacksmithing as you always learn even from mistakes.

11.01.2022 Finished 'mark two' today. I had to put my magnifying glasses on ( that's when you know your getting old) to get better detail on the head. I also made a tighter weave for a better look. It is the heaviest of any of my brooches at approx 65gm compared to 50gm for a large celtic brooch but the chunkyness is quite appealing. I have reduced the production time and weight so if your interested in this style of brooch i will be selling for $50 each plus postage to your location. Postage cost within Australia is $6 extra. Postage cost to America is $25 Australian dollars extra.

11.01.2022 Finished a bird feeder for a local couple. A few pictures before and after painting.

04.01.2022 I finished a bunch of five roses and a custom brooch for a lovely lady from Maine, USA. Jane applied the coloured highlights, The rose is made from a different more compact pattern than what i have used before. I made the brooch from fencing wire as i neede to minimise the weight.

04.01.2022 Hi everyone, i haven't posted for awhile. I have been making items for upcoming markets. I recently listed the herb knives on the wonderful facebook site ' One day closer to rain' and received a great response. Here is a video of one of the knives being hardened in vegetable oil, very visual Hope you are all keeping well. Cheers
