12.01.2022 Why do we want to travel?? We have been planning this trip before we were even married. We tried to leave a few years ago but after 3 months we were heading home with a low bank account but full of great memories and a thirst to save and keep going. After a few months at home the bills rolled in, we got good jobs, we lost our beloved staffy, we were in a cheap rental, we needed a new car, we were ready to try for a baby. So, we stayed. Now 2 years later - we're finally crawli...ng out from that place we were in and with a beautiful baby girl by our side. Our bills have diminished, we have a new car and we began planning to leave again. After she was born though, the doubts rolled in! We have a kid now...we're meant to buy a house, invest, settle in, have another kid and for awhile that seemed like what we needed. Especially to me. But its not for us. Not right now. And thats ok. I keep thinking back to our trip up north and we were driving along the Old Tele Track. I looked out the window and said to Ben - "I feel happy. Genuinely, stupidly happy and I can't remember the last time I felt like this." We had no reception, living in a rooftop tent for the past 3 months with 2 dogs and meeting the most amazing people along the way. It was different and busy and I had no time to stress or worry or overthink. I was there, in that moment and loving it. We love this lifestyle. Its who we are. Yes, it will be different this time with a young bubba but its a new challenge and we're up for it. Together. Yes, our money could be spent elsewhere but, screw it! I would rather be on the road making memories with my family and being altogether for the big milestones in Tilda's life. There are so many inspiring, beautiful families on the road sharing their stories and tips. I feel more prepared this time. More organised. And ready to go. So, again why are we travelling?
