25.01.2022 " I would like them to come straight back. First priority is clean that gully up and preserve our cave the best they can because as you can see weve got younger generations and weve got no stories to tell them. All we can tell them is that we did have a cave there with history. But there is nothing now and its very disheartening. "

25.01.2022 For all Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander artists, there is currently an invitation to design the Indigenous All Stars Team Painting for 2021. Please pass on to anyone you think might be interested in being involved! (Please share)

25.01.2022 #Mentalhealthawarenessweek #itsokaynottobeokay #youarenotalone What is mental health awareness week? Mental health awareness week is a national week where we educate others on what mental health is, what signs to look for when someone has a mental health illness, how it affects people and what steps you need to take to take in order to improve your mental health. Why is mental health awareness week important? It is important because we can use this week as a yearly reminder t...o check up on family, friends and co-workers. It is also a chance to gain more understanding on mental health issues through sharing stories. It is also important because it's a way to remind others that they’re not alone and that it’s okay not to be okay. If you're ever feeling sad or depressed and need someone to talk to please contact any of the helplines listed below: 1. Beyondblue - Open 24 hours / 7 days a week Call 1300 224 636 2. 20.01.2022 Great kick off today for my Bushfoods journey workshops hosted at the Walyalup Aboriginal Cultural Centre in Fremantle. These beautiful ones spent time with me... today in learning about the herbs and spices as foods and medicines, how you can make use of them and how to grow some of the plants so they can cook up a storm. Making simple dishes such as infused dips with Lemon Myrtle, Rivermint, Pepperberry, Wattleseed and Native Thyme. We infused Rivermint in the fruit salad with a Davidson plum syrup. Omg sooooo delish nom nom ladies loved it. I donated one of my Bindi Bindi Dreaming cups and raffled it off to one of these enthusiastic ladies for making the effort to attend my workshop. Congrats to you Noelle enjoy your cuppa from it Look forward to meeting more wonderful people in support of our businesses #SupportSmallBusiness #supportblackbusinesses See more

17.01.2022 The National Heritage-listed Fitzroy River is much more then just a river, it is the only pristine river system left (in not only Australia but the whole world). The beautiful river is also a spiritual place for the traditional owners of the area, who have managed the river for thousands of years. Future planned developments that will take water from the river or it’s floodplains pose a serious risk to the river and it’s people by reducing life. If the future plans are to go... ahead, they will extract the fresh water through big pumps for the purpose of irrigation, cattle grazing and cotton. This will then lead to the river dying which will put an end to the food source the river provides, local employment and much more. The first link listed below is a petition to save the beautiful Fitzroy River. The second link is a video of one of the locals speaking about why the Fitzroy river is important, not only to us but future generations. 1. https://www.likenowhereelse.org.au/protect_fitzroy 2. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xhTiM97tlgE

02.01.2022 Wungening Aboriginal Corporations Black lives matter statement. Many of us have experienced systemic discrimination, intolerance and racism. The impact of the...se entrenched issues on our spirit, our families and our people continues to be significant and long lasting. Our people are more likely to have their children removed, more likely to be incarcerated, more likely to not meet educational outcomes and more likely to die earlier than non-Aboriginal people. For many, each day is a battle to improve our health and wellbeing against all odds. We need to consider our collective contribution to lead change in our community if we are to see change. With this comes sharing our stories and experiences, as painful as it is, we need to speak up and educate others in our community; we need to provide Aboriginal led services for our people that focus on healing, and we need to create a dominate collective story together if we are to have a positive impact on the future of our people . #BlackLivesMatter #TheWungeningWay
