13.01.2022 Every year the WA Mining Club, in conjunction with industry co-sponsors, offers a number of scholarships to encourage and foster the development of the next generation of leaders within Western Australias mining sector. In 2019 nine $10,000 scholarships will be awarded in the following categories: Geology, Female Student in a Technical Discipline in the Mining Sector (two scholarships), Resource Related Engineering Discipline, Engineering in the Mining Sector, Metallurgy, Environmental Sciences in the Mining Sector and Indigenous (two scholarships). 08.01.2022 St Barbara's Day luncheon still on sale but filling fast! Once again, the Feast of St Barbara is upon us. This is not only a time for celebration but a time for reflection, where we remember the men and women who have lost their lives in the resources industry in 2015. The luncheon will comprise a Remembrance Ceremony, a superb three course luncheon and a presentation by our guest speaker Andrew Harding from Rio Tinto. The afternoon will conclude with the drawing of the annual raffle. 05.01.2022 The WA Mining Club announced the names of six recipients of its 2015/2016 WA Mining Club Scholarship Program at Thursday nights awards ceremony. Winners received a $10,000 contribution, to their university studies in environmental engineering, mineral processing, metallurgy, mining engineering and geology. Entrants included students from relevant faculties at the University of Western Australia, Curtin University, Curtin Universitys WA School of Mines, Murdoch University and Edith Cowan.

05.01.2022 Does your mine camp give you privacy? Comfort? Safety? Are there are other aspects which could be improved? WAMC Young Professionals last week announced its 2019 industry project: the Design a Donga initiative, a collaborative effort between industry leaders to create a Donga that incorporates design elements to maximise the wellbeing and mental health of FIFO workers. If you're a FIFO worker, taking this survey will help our team gather data to realise the WAMC Young Profes...sionals' Design a Donga project: https://docs.google.com//1FAIpQLSdHk7lV870178Vyei/viewform With the assistance of Grounded Construction Group, this project aims to innovate mine site accommodation based on the feedback and suggestions of FIFO workers.
